Didn't they used to do this? collected on the way out?

I guess the boys at the top of the pyramid, had trouble with the dosh flowing uphill from the airport and when they made the airlines collect it as part of the fare and pass it on at a higher level.

So now they're doing it again?

Did the other one go away or are they now getting double?

It was 500 on the way out increased to 700 and there is another 100 on top forget what for, included in present tickets. So this will be 1300 tax all in to visit wonderland 😜

    Hi,

"can’t beat a bit of Ozzy"

Would have loved to see Ozzy live. Probably not gonna happen anymore now.
Same for Motorhead and Black Sabbath.

    Sanuk!

You can still hear Thai versions of Motorhead, she was 10 when she made this

  3. Daft buggers i the USA are only 'over dosing' as they seem to be taking Ivermectin meant for cows and horses! It's quite easy to look up the intended human doses based on weight. It will not do you any harm if you do and might well be working, i'd not trust the Chinese stuff of course, either fake or with other ingredients not known. You can buy liquid version on lazada made in Bangkok. Any taking it in place of vaccines is of course a total idiot.

Small Axe [2020 TV Limited Series]

Five part mini TV series named after the Wailers song, is based on the real-life experiences of London's West Indian communities between 1969 and 1982. Each episode telling a different story, each directed by Steve McQueen, chip firmly on shoulder with agenda driven one sided race relations point of view can feel clichéd. Nevertheless a good series best watched as a whole with some top soundtracks of the era and good performances, episode 1 a two hour epic in itself and episode 2 for the soundtrack alone.

The one set in the blues party was quite inaccurate and got slagged off online. I went a lot in the 80's but the writer was not old enough to have experienced them at the time. The idea of people dancing to kung fu fighting, writhing about on the floor and slackness in somebodies garden was ridiculous. The music selection was also tame and limited mostly playing Janet Kay, opportunity lost there.

  5. Domina series was worth watching, if only for the Roman costumes. They did manage to shoe horn in a sub Saharan African as the unlikely fictitious 'sister' of Livia Drusilla, at pains to point out she was born in Rome as were her mother and grandmother, diversity BC! Not as good as the Rome series a few years ago but OK.

Proof? Whilst this possibly may have happened, in isolated instances,  It is generally accepted that enforced slavery, i.e. capture and chaining; was the predominate method of gaining slaves,  not just in the African arena, but throughout time.

Time you got up to date, even CNN reported on this 25 years ago!

That crime is usually blamed entirely on the European outsiders who inflicted slavery on African victims. But new research by some African scholars supports a different view - - that Africans should share the blame for slavery.

"It was the Africans themselves who were enslaving their fellow Africans, sending them to the coast to be shipped outside," says researcher Akosua Perbi of the University of Ghana

I also believe reparations are owed. In large part for continued endemic and systemic targeted post slavery. 100 years of apartheid including policies that stunted or denied growth. 60 years of either targeting (mass incarceration, institutional targeting, etc) or simply neglect.

I'd limit beneficiaries to those that 1. Can trace their ancestry to slavery on both sides of the family. 2. Are identified legally as Black (birth certificate, driver's licenses, government documents). 3. You would have to apply and legally be held responsible for fraud.

Controversial to some, not to me. ;)  More than willing to hear counter arguments.

Why more handouts for wannabe victims just because a couple of hundred years ago fellow Africans sold their fore bears into slavery?  Better to spend the money on the police, schools and health care. Most of the reparation bribes would only be wasted anyway. If it did happen what about the Native Americans who had their land stolen and who suffered genocidal attacks from King Philips war in the 17th cent to wounded knee in the 19th.

Sorry this is German only. It says 350 Indonesian doctors have caught the virus although fully treated by Chinese Sinovac.

No vaccine stops people actually contracting the virus and then testing positive, the vaccine enables your immune system to fight it off and keep you from getting very ill.
