Boss Tower? The tower near Tesco Lotus on Rama 4? It has/had 100s of rooms. I did stay there again a few years later around 2006, and the cockroaches had taken over and things were falling off.

Edit: You’re right. Bumrungrad can afford it.

Boss Tower on Rama IV road
    • 23‐storey building in good condition
    • Land area 3,368 sq.m.
    • Total building area of 40,650 sq.m. will accommodate
    ‐ 300‐400 back office employees
‐ Dorm rooms for 1,000 nurses
    • Total Acquisition Price of 837.5

I stayed there in 2007 (it was my 2nd place in Thailand)

1st was Rompo Mansion, just down the road. That’s still there and has been renovated recently.

great memories of that time, drinking Leo and eating Issan food at a street vendor opposite Tesco

Was/is there any decision? I must admit I left Thailand over a decade ago and rarely visit the forum, but it’s nice to see familiar posters here.

I actually visited the board to see if my old residence Boss Tower in Rama 4 Road was still standing. I last visited BKK in December 2018 and didn’t have the opportunity to check out that area.

I too wondered about this and went down for a look. It’s now used as a nurses dormitory for a nearby hospital.

  3. I was in a crash once near Pratunam with a complete lunatic of a taxi driver who was covered in sweat, eyes rolling round in the back of his head,  gurning and having weird jerking muscle spasms.

The police arrived on the scene, took one look at him and.......

  4. Just got back from Samui,

Chewang was a complete waste of time, mostly ugly girl on Soi Reggae and the other area near Henry Africa’s or whatever it’s calls

lamai was great tho, the beer bars were pretty packed with girls and it had a great atmosphere, they were looking for 500 Bf and 1500 short time.

    Id definitely go back

No, that's complete nonsense that it is poorly run and moderated. I'd actually say it is far and away the best moderated board.

Social media changed things a lot, and the mix and profile of expats in Thailand has changed markedly too.

Hasn’t it just, I was just taking a walk down memory lane and it’s unrecognizable from when I 1st came here 13 years ago. God knows what it’s like for people who have been here 20+ years

The world changed, Thailand changed and maybe not all for the bad.

When I first came here I would meet people in small pubs on Soi 4 who owned shares in bars in Nana Plaza, who were not members of organized crime syndicates. Can you imagine such a thing like that now?

I remember meeting people who sold fake handbags on eBay and pirate DVDs to the U.K for a living, something that would be unfathomable to today’s expats.

None of my original crew from 2007 are in Bangkok anymore, not a single one of them. Some died, some went home and quite a few moved to Chang Mai and spend their days posting hateful things about Muslims on Facebook.

im feeling strangely nostalgic for Soi Zero and Sukhumvit 1 plaza today

    oh well

  6. There is a really cute early 20s girl who sometimes works in there, she could easily work in a gogo, but she says she is happier working in the same place as her auntie.

I listened to their story with keen interest, and then got the auntie lick my arsehole whilst I roughly fucked her nieces mouth, before shooting a load of cum down her throat.

    What a smashing day out

It's posts like this that demonstrate well why I tend not to post on the forums any more. There's so much misinformation - and this is a really good example of it.

The sad part is that people read stuff from people on forums who don't have a clue what's going on and they believe it. Worse still, they repeat it, often twisting it further or adding false comments such as "my friend who knows KS or Stickman or whoever said that......".

Here here! Every single forum on Thailand is filled with a vocal minority of dreadfully ill informed "experts" who have to prove they are the authority on every subject. It drives me up the wall.

  8. He is joking for sure

    This isn't a joke tho:

My friend once loaned $5000 to his mother in law so she could buy a plot of land, next to the family farm, that was being sold at a bargain price. With this land joined to the farm and the money left over being used to modernise the place they managed to increase the value of the estate by something like $20000. They then sold the whole thing for 6 figures (at least, I don't know the exact numbers)

How much of the $5000 loan was returned to my friend?

With the profit they made, surely $7000?

Nope, he got Zero, zilch. Fuck all.

Not a single penny did he ever get back from them.

  9. Man up and tell your mate's wife to stop involving you in her petty games. Problem solved. You're welcome.

..... unless you really do want to shag her, get a bj off her etc... in which case you aren't really his "friend" are you?

I'll have to admit defeat and go for option 1. Another sorry case of a Falang being manipulated by a Thai lovely.

It's been a bad week, first the mother in laws buffalo gets sick, then my wife has to give 10000 baht to her brother for an emergency eye operation, and now this.

  10. My friend and his Thai wife are having a "bad patch" He spends a lot out time out of the country and she is bored with having to stay home and look after the baby etc

They seem to spend 95% of their time trying to make each other jealous, in a variety of ways, the result being that they spend a lot of time being very angry and distant with each other.

She has been subtly hinting for while, that her and I are having an "affair" (which we are not) she is all over me when he is around, then drops me like a stone when he isn't. We do go to the cinema and shopping together however, when he isn't around. (I can't remember why)

Obviously, this causes tension between my friend and I, but what really pisses me off is that she "secretly" IS screwing other guys behind my friends back, whilst I'm the one doing all the work and getting all the grief.

A wiser man would probably cut his losses, and stop being the patsy in this game, but I've put so much time in with this girl that I really think I deserve (at the very least) a reluctant blow job from her.

    I forget my point, sorry.
