1. Voter education? It won't happen anytime soon. The US state in the absolutely worst shape, Arizona, is moving more and more to the radical right. Voters support those politicians most who put the whole state into deep shit. That the politicians are responsible for the collapse of the state doesn't really matter to the voters as long as the politicians represent a pure anti-government ideology. Interesting read: Tea Party in the Sonora: For the future of G.O.P. governance, look to Arizona PS: reading the article explains McCain's recent flip-flops and his move the radical right. He is under threat by the Tea Party and fears that he won't be reelected.
2. "Same Same but Different" About a German backpacker who goes to PP and falls in love with a BG (Some Germans can be really stupid... ) and later learns that she is HIV positive. Great movie. Highly recommended. I just posted some additonal info in the culture sub-forum: Rink 6VjZSx6bjqk
3. It must be real for this amount of money: [color:red]SHORT TIME (up to 2 hours) $ 219 Bon voyage.
4. Maybe you should do more short times. :content: BTW, I might arrive on the 26th for a two weeks stay...
5. I am staying with a cold at home and downloaded some DVD rips in the last two days (I have a 25MBit VDSL connection now ) The Proposal: Was ok. Woudln't pay for it District 9: An intersting Sci-Fi movie. A new plot story in Sci-Fi genre. My recommendation! Star Trek (2009): Typical Stark Trek story with a new twist. A lot of action. Needs to be watched in a movie with huge sceen and good sound system. G.I. Joe: A movie for 14 year old boys. Stupid story. Typical, uninspiring action and fight scenes.
6. Thailand's zero-sum tourism By Anthony Allison HUA HIN, Thailand - Thailand will step up efforts to prevent Chinese tourists from being cheated by so-called "zero-dollar tours", the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced. That's the good news. The bad news is, this statement was made in August, 2000. So when Thai authorities recently stated that they would "discuss the problem and draft measures to address the problem", a strain of skepticism was inevitable. "Zero-dollar" tours derive their name from package tours sold mainly in China, and to a much lesser degree in Korea, which include free air fare and low-cost accommodation. But once the incredulous (and gullible) tourists set foot in the Kingdom, the scam begins. The groups are herded from one expensive jewelry shop to another, from pricey entertainment joints to expensive restaurants. Not being able to speak Thai, and virtually imprisoned within the group, they are ripped blind. Unscrupulous tour operators (both Thai and Chinese) and their selected outlets in Thailand reap handsome rewards - one estimate puts the loss to the legitimate tour industry at as much as US$400 million a year. Officials claim that about 90% of Thailand's inbound operators specializing in Chinese tourists are of the "zero-dollar" kind. Full story at Asia Times
7. Actually I thought that she is the same.
8. I wouldn't have posted it otherwise...
9. Here are two vids of her: vid1 vid2 I presume it's the same girl, but I am not sure.
10. I agree to Stan. Even a clueless tourist doesn't deserve be scammed, especially when the scams are so perfectly excercised (taxi scams at the aiport, National palace and tuktuk/shop scam, gem scam, e.g.) by people in official looking uniforms who stand just in front of the authorized workers/ official entrances. :onfire:
11. Don't you feel more and more like Don Quixote? I am mean, one thousand clicks is nothing compared to numbers of tourists who go these places every year. Also your Flickr site doesn't give any information how the scams works. Therefore, those who need information about the scam most, don't have an idea what you are talking about. Those who know will not be bothered to talk to the scammers. Those would should know - i.e. the authorities - doesn't give a shit since they will not cut a source of constant income.
12. Yep, just read Stickmann as well. Clubsiam, the OP, was (is?) in deep shit. And it was really stupid of him to have some self portraits on his website.
13. The only problem is that general statistics don't apply to individuals. It can always hit YOU, regardless how small the probability is.
14. This the absolute most disgusting comment I have ever read on this board.
15. Happy Birthday JS! I hope you have good friends to party with.
16. only 64 meter, maybe I should have some more beer. : :hubba:
17. Says mrkungfu: Jp1 and others I used to to work for AMC theatres in Canada and I know of a couple of guys who got transfered to Japan to work in their projection booths. They didn't know how to speak Japanese but did their job well. They told me that all the parts we trained with are the same including projection, systems and film, so it wasnt a problem running the movies. But like I said I doubt it that I could get a job there. Keep us informed! Maybe this is a special work environment. What I have learnt so far, that only people who speak, read (and mostly write) Japanese very well are able to work with common Japanese people (not in an international company, or research institute) And of course post about the sanuk part of the trip.
18. The homepage advertises: deep kisses, to massage and lick breasts, it it is absolutely OK to touch the lower parts. They provide private rooms too. 60 min. course ~ 135 US$
19. Says uniformguy: I'm one step ahead of you again Kamui but again thanks for the info. That was the article I read that led me to starting this thread, so looks like I'll have to get some local advice when I arrive. The others seem to be fascinated with the cinema but I wanna find this "pub". Uniformguy Maybe now I am again ahead of you. Here is the home page of roppongi kiss me and here another link to the club. I hope your browser can show japanese fonts. If you need some translations, just ask.
20. Says uniformguy: Thanks for the link Kamui............doesn't look like the sort of place that would have a "sexy pub where u can harrass girls" so after I have checked out the cinema where do I go to find this pub???? :: Uniformguy Good question. A short search on the web only confirmed that this club exists, but it seems that this club is not at but near Roppongi Hills. Maybe you will need a local to locate (and presumably to enter) this club. How about the guys from the Tokyo crew? Girls in heat run to the hills By Ryann Connell Staff Writer May 10, 2003 Roppongi Hills, a glitzy new entertainment complex in the heart of Tokyo's biggest entertainment district, has been described as a modern-day Hanging Gardens likely to generate 30 trillion yen for the economy. Already over 1 million people have visited the new complex since its Golden Week opening and Roppongi Hills is fast becoming a Tokyo tourist attraction. With so much attention being paid to the area, sex services have naturally been quick to jump in for the ride, according to Asahi Geino (5/15). "For lots of girls from the countryside, Roppongi equals Tokyo, so a lot of them gather here. That improves the quality of the working woman," says a spokesman from Best Club magazine, a rag that offers information on racy clubs in the capital. "Roppongi is also appealing for its fine balance in sex services, with high-class clubs, cabaret clubs and sexual harassment pubs found everywhere." Roppongi Kiss Me :hubba: is a "sexy pub" offering special services to coincide with the opening of Roppongi Hills. "Our place lets customers touch up us girls the entire time they're here. My special talent is the ability to make any customer at all rise to the occasion. I'll run my fingernails lightly along the underside and tease them until they're ready to explode," Ayu Hojo of Roppongi Kiss Me tells Asahi Geino. "I'm keen on a soft touch, and this can sometimes turn my headlights on, so to speak. Roppongi doesn't seem to attract guys into strong tweaking. I'd also be up for a trip to Roppongi Hills if a customer asked me out. I used to be the type who'd do it with anyone, anywhere, but now I like to be chatted up a bit first." Eva is an S&M store with a difference in that customers can request their worker to dress up in one of a variety of saucy costumes as well. "Roppongi is a city of the night. It's amazingly sexy. I'm horny to the core, so whenever I'm in Roppongi it's like I'm in heat. I have wet dreams and even masturbate in the mornings a lot of the time," Eva's Yukari tells Asahi Geino. "Roppongi Hills has loads of places to go for a feed, but I only want to eat guys. I like the guy who gives his all in bed. It's my hobby to please guys in a number of ways." Underground sex services have also been given a new lease on life with the opening of Roppongi Hills. "Lots of celebrities come to Roppongi, so there're clubs that attract starlets, dating clubs run by modeling agencies and S&M clubs that performers like visiting," a writer on the [color:"red"] ejaculation industry tells Asahi Geino. "Cops are being stricter in line with the opening of Roppongi Hills, but there are still loads of clubs where the girls will go all the way and even hentai bars where anything goes." from Mainichi WaiWai
21. Says jp1: since I am a theatre technician with projection training I wonder if I could get a job in that cinema hmmm? probably not but it wont hurt trying. if you can speak, read and write Japanese it shouldn't be a problem. Give it a try. Mr. Kungfu, if you learn Japanese fulltime, like 20++ hours a week you should be able to learn the language within 1 or 2 years
22. Time sharing scams are very common in south europe. Every year there are reports on this scams going on at famous mass tourist destinations like the spanish islands. The people who do the scams are very skillful in psychology and how to pressure people to sign a contract within an afternoon. As others said to buy 1/52 of an apartment for 25 years is quite stupid and often there is no guarantee that the buildings will be finished. If the buildings are finished, the quality often is very low and there is no guarantee for a proper maintenance. In any case it seems to be always a bad deal which could mean a loss of a lot of money and trouble for years until the time sharing owners give up and accept their losses.
23. Says Roppongi: The J-Gals obviously like it, as they do anything "new" in Tokyo. Visitors like UG too? Anyway her is a link to roppongi hills. As far as I know it belongs the Mori family which owns many buildings in Tokyo. Maybe Virgin cinemas could be interesting
