Quite nice watching City lose Bummer seeing Villa miss out on points at home but glad the Arse Chelski and Liverpool games are out of the way. I think we played reasonably well considering the quality of our opponents thus far. Last year we had a relegation battle going on for pretty much the entire season and I surely don't expect that this season. Anything better than a top half table finish this season is a bonus imo. As for Man U - Chelsea tonight.. no fekking clue but I've already set my alarm for 2am.

Big game this Monday and a huge morale boost for either manager on the winning side. And news stories are indicating Rooney's making his appearance in the starting line-up. I think the transfer window should close before seasons starts tho. Kinda silly this ongoing BS until September while games are underway. Would make more sense to have a window in June and July (or just July for that matter.. ) and allow clubs a proper pre-season prep without soapies.. uhh I mean soap operas.. OK got a bit distracted over here

Still trying to figure out why I have strong dislike towards Liverpool and Man City... well and Birmingham City for obvious reasons. Wouldn't really mind seeing anyone winning the title except these 3. FOOK 'EM!

Yes, Bayern are the team to beat in Europe with Barcelona a close second. Don't write off Dortmund although they sold Gotze they managed to hold on to Lewandowski and signed some fine players. Still need convincing re the French big money-spenders PSG and Monaco... Fenerbahce - Arsenal in a few minutes. I bet Munchmaster, Steve and Limbo are pissing their panties :grinyes:

Mekong, I too would like to see Rooney replaced by Ronaldo. Multiple transfer requests just ain't a healthy thing. Another wild dream would be to welcome Sneijder or Kaka both not in great form but I'm sure they'd feel at home instantly. Eriksen would be a more sensible choice tho given his age.

Bony (ex-Vitesse signed by Swansea) would be a great fit at Arsenal. Ask Limbo WTF are they paying those scouts at Arsenal???

Yo Steve brother I'd take a top half finish for Villa it'd be a massive improvement from last season. More experience for the youngsters and something to build on for the seasons ahead. Still wondering wtf happened with Higuain.. I deemed him an Arsenal player weeks ago until he signed for Napoli.

Midfield needs to click that's all. I think the quality is there just need to play an extended period without injuries. Imo sagna and gibbs are OK stand-ins at most, not CL material.

If Arsenal were to win the title this year it'd be a major fooking upset as you say Wenger stating his side can compete for the title??!!?? This planet doesn't harbor enough salt for me to take He needs to be realistic and look at the top 5-6 teams and compare line to line. Doesn't look so good suddenly but I gotta say you have a solid midfield as it is. But stating the obvious again a(any) team is as strong as its weakest link and for the Arse it's their defense. A revitalized defense (I'd say a GK and R&L full backs at least) + a strong solid striker (Podolski and Giroud?? that's Europa League pedigree) would bombard you guys to true title contenders.

He's yet to play a game this calendar year since he ruptured his ligament Dec '12. Hasn't played for 8 months but likely to make his comeback next month. He'll need to prove himself again, fight for a starting place before scouts waste their time on him. Going to be tough for him tho to make the starting line-up since PSV is doing well with their current batch of young talents.

Limbo, I think he did very good selling a load of useless players who either lack quality to become regular 1st team players and youngsters who got the potential to play for a mediocre EPL team tops. Tidying things up at 1st team and reserve team is healthy for the wallet and sends a positive and clear message to those who make the 'cut'. But like you I'm surprised he's done so little this transfer window and ideally you'd want your team near completion before kick-off and avoid any (desperate thus overpriced) last-minute transfers on deadline day. Some quality players at PSV and Ajax at the moment, Eriksen in particular. I really expect(ed) him to go to a top side this summer.

Just checked re the double.. twice. Damn close indeed. I agree we could surprise a few people this season other than the Arsenal fanbase Was hoping Barry and Milner would become plan B at City and opt for a return to Villa. They could add much needed experience to the squad and offer the pair the regular football they need in prep for next year's World Cup.

I know you're happy to see me, Limbo, missed you guys too! I'll spare you the history lessons we have a young team and with last season's experience the young lads should be able to finish top half comfortably. Eagerly awaiting what and who some of the EPL teams will buy in the remainder of the transfer window..either to please the fans, out of desperation or just for the sake of it, hehehe! Poor wrinkled Wenger is feeling the pressure already.

Realistically we can't be more ambitious than sitting on a European spot come end of season. Simple as that but on a great day I feel we could beat anyone. Wondering how many of those days I'll get this season :-) We have a tricky start of the campaign having away matches to Arsenal and chelsea followed by a home game hosting Liverpool. Having already picked up 3 points is great. I do have weak for Man U as well and since Villa won't be near title contenders in my lifetime I'm hoping Moyes can keep the title where it is :-) Laterzz!

Tried it the other day as well and wasn't too bad actually. Not my favorite one either but I enjoy the variety.
