  1. I haven't been in touch for a long time.
In the meantime, the sun has reached its northern tropic and is now on its way towards the equator again.
We now have high summer and the most beautiful and brightest time in Germany.
The European Football Championship has started and we are already in the round of 16.
As an old white man, I have a lot of time and watch every game on TV.
Here are a few short match reports from tonight 26 June 2021 - two round of 16 matches.

    Denmark Wales   Round of 16

    4 : 0 if I remember correctly.
The Welsh were overtaxed in terms of playing technique and football tactics.
They are actually second class internationally.
They made it relatively easy for the cheerful Danes (the Danes were in the vein; can you say that?) to score four goals.
Wales is the second British team to be eliminated and I have the feeling that England will be knocked out by the Deutschen next Tuesday.  5555

  2. และนี่คือฤดูร้อน ครั้งแรกในชีวิต

Und es ist Sommer, das erste mal im Leben  ---  And it's summer, the first time in life
as the German-Romanian (a Transylvanian Saxon) Peter Maffay once sang over 40 years ago.
A hit, an evergreen, to this day.
What is this song about? It's about fucking, simple as that.

    Es war ein schöner Tag
    Der letzte im August
    Die Sonne brannte so
    Als hätte sie's gewusst
    Die Luft war flirrend heiß

    It was a beautiful day
    The last in August
    The sun was so hot
    As if it knew
    The air was shimmering hot

So far, so good. Then what happens?

Then I met her and looked into her eyes
    I was 16 and she was 31
And I didn't know much about love
    She knew everything

    … I cut a romantic story short

    And the boy
    Took her hand shyly
But as a man I saw the sun rise
    And it was summer

    Yes, it is summer.

Here we have Mr. Peter Maffay singing “Und es war Sommer”
    Enjoy!

My flowering rhododendron - a true splendour of blossoms

Early June 2021 - summer is finally here - the prolonged cold spell until the end of May is over.
The English high-pressure area, which brought us warmth and sunshine for about a week, has long since departed. Now the lows from the North Atlantic are back, bringing rain, thunderstorms and temperatures between 15 and 19 degrees here in Düsseldorf
One is modest. But now we have the brightest and lamest days of the year. The sun is approaching its northern tropic, the Tropic of Cancer, and that means between 16 and 18 hours of daylight and brightness for the countries and regions to the north.
I sit outside on the lawn until 22.30 and read a book. In the morning, shortly after four, dawn gradually begins to break.
Sure, the British, the Scandinavians and the Canadians know this phenomenon.
I love this time of midsummer. It is the most beautiful time of the year for me.
It is June and that means we have summer now. Yes.

  4. Human life is full of waiting:
We wait on different levels, in different forms, with different kinds of consequences and burdens. Every one of us knows waiting, which is why it can be said succinctly: Waiting is an everyday experience and waiting is one of the most elementary and most frequent mental experiences. And waiting is also a complex event that is influenced by many cultures.

    *  The landlords of Pattaya are desperately waiting for guests; guests with a bulging travel fund, thirsty and eager to drink, spendy like a Saudi oil prince, buying lots of ladydrinks and horny like the neighbour's dog, so that every day all barmaids are barfined.

    *  Mr Parky (a very special friend of mine, a local expat living in Pattaya) is waiting for Jimi Hendrix and the good Lord.

    *  Mr Baldylocks (a friend of mine from Pattaya) is waiting for the chemical industry to develop a hair restorer that will turn his current bald head into a thick tropical rainforest.

    *  Vpi78 (an American acquaintance) is waiting for a medical miracle. Maybe it will grow back all the teeth he has lost in the last decades. Natural "third teeth", so to speak.

    *  I am waiting for the end of the Corona crisis and that in late autumn I can escape from the horrible Teutonic autumn and winter and return to my lonely beach and Jomtiem in Soi Welcome.

We see, man is a waiting creature. One connoisseur succinctly asserts,
"All human wait, and in the fullest sense of the term, only human wait."
Waiting is generally understood as future-oriented dwelling in view of a certain expected end of a - short or long, pleasant or unpleasant, voluntary or prescribed - period of time.
So: whoever waits is expecting something, e.g.
the tax assessment from the tax office, the end of the Corona crisis, the new Rolling Stones album or the conversion of Mr Buffalo Bill to a peaceful and polite board member.

I greet you from the sunny and warm Stoffeln beer garden in Düsseldorf.

  5. Aa view of the sea of blossoms in May

We have been putting up nesting boxes for many years.
Every year in spring, from the end of March / April, they are occupied by pairs of titmice.

Here is a nest box hanging in a cherry laurel tree.

    Nistkasten-Meise1.jpg.808cc52f077a518857ab7297b26b6c50.jpg

This wooden nest box is occupied for the first time. I think a pair of siskins or a wren is nesting inside.
For the last two years I have been desperately walking around my garden in April with this nest box, holding it high in the air with my left arm, waving it around and shouting: "Dear robins, siskins, wrens for this nest box I ask no rent, no lease. It is free this year. Yet this prime property is safe, comfortable and in a prime residential location like a Manhattan penthouse flat on Central Park or on the Thames in downtown London!"
Now finally it has worked! I am happy!

The days in May after the Ice Saints --- Waiting for Summer

The month of May was unanimously too cold. Compared to the long-term average temperatures, this May was about 2.5 degrees too cold, according to the meteorologists. But then on 24/25 May the weather changed. It is hard to believe: a powerful high-pressure area moved from the British Isles towards Central Europe and Scandinavia, dominating our weather until today, 2 June. Blue skies, sunshine and temperatures from 22 degrees to 26 degrees today, 2 June. Who would have thought that?
A small miracle has actually occurred. Something really good has come from Britain. None of the usual lows with thick grey clouds and rain as usual, no Harris bombers bringing death and destruction, no new even more dangerous Coronavirus variant, but warmth and sunshine. So you see, British people, there you go!

The wait for summer is over. It's here and it's delighting us with summer temperatures, blue skies and sunshine.

  6. Whitsun 22 May to 24 May 2021 - a disaster weather-wise.
Last night, Saturday 22 May, the "Tagesschau" (TV news at 8 p.m.) on German TV reported on relaxations in the Corona pandemic. Innkeepers are allowed to open again at Whitsun. A short report was shown about the outdoor gastronomy at the St. Pauli Landungsbrücken in Hamburg.
Here in Hamburg harbour yesterday there was a strong and very cold wind and at best 11 degrees - and that on 22 May! It is terrible!

    HH-stpauli1-gut.jpg.c35474b6e28ffa78b7dd853905ec4dbc.jpg

People wear winter clothes because of the cold and the wind!

These are pictures from the "Tagesschau" of 22 May.

The world, science and the public are talking and discussing about global warming.
All I can say about this spring and early summer 2021 is that we are not experiencing warming,
but the world is heading towards a new ice age.

    Greetings from a shivering Nawhgab

  7. From my trip to the Hamburg cruise terminal and my memories and comments on a series of old hits and pop songs back to my Düsseldorf garden and the little happiness it offers.

This spring of 2021 is far too cold. Now in May, temperatures barely exceed 13, 14 degrees, at night between 6 and 8. With temperatures like these, there is hardly any spring fever.

The fruit tree blossom is also two to three weeks later this year than the long-term average.

Hopefully there will be some thick juicy apples in autumn

My spring flowers have all blossomed: the daffodils and tulips, the crocuses and snowdrops.
Instead, uninvited weeds such as my favourite, the dandelion, are in bloom.

    Bluehender-Loewenzahn.thumb.jpg.79477a10905cf72ba2104d274762a985.jpg

I use a hoe and a hand shovel to get to grips with the weeds.
I pull them out with stump and handle. That's exhausting work for me.

    Charly-Garten-arbeit-DSC01684.jpg.ad4f2d6aace053e506255383640bf778.jpg

Here are a few pictures from last year.
You can clearly see my paralysed right arm hanging down without function. The left hand has to do all the work.

    Charly-Garten-arbeiten-DSC01635.jpg.2bfa59c7bb503ef75125507794f33b60.jpg

I work two to three hours a day. It is hard and exhausting for me with my paralysis, but it is good for the body and the muscles. It is like applied physiotherapy, only much cheaper and more effective.

    to be continued ...

  8. Back to my musician.

In the meantime, while my thoughts have been wandering a bit, my musician is now playing and singing Hamburg songs, songs that sing and praise the city of Hamburg, its harbour, the Reeperbahn and St. Pauli, the Michel - this beautiful baroque church that stands on a hill high above the port and guards and protects it.

Many songs are among them that were composed especially for a movie and are known and loved throughout the German-speaking world. Most of the Hamburg, St. Pauli, harbour and sailor songs were written from the early 1920s to the end of the 1960s.

But it is clear that composers, singers and musicians do not stop singing about this city and writing new songs.

A very special song about seafaring, about a boy, hardly older than 14, 15 years, that he now sings and plays “Junge, komm bald wieder” "Boy, come back soon". It is one of the songs that has burned itself into the soundtrack of the hearts of all Germans. Everyone knows it, everyone can sing along. The record or CD is available in every music box in a Hamburg pub or bar or Kneipe.

Many of his listeners sing it and hum along.

Released at the end of 1962, this song has been sold many millions of times and played even more often on the radio. This song was sung to success by the Austrian Freddy Quinn, of all people. Quinn was the most popular and successful German-language pop singer of the 50s and 60s.

The lyrics of the song are about worries of a mother whose son has secretly gone to sea: "I worry, worry about you. Think of tomorrow too, think of me too." The text consists of the six-part refrain, beginning with the title line. It is first at the beginning and is repeated twice, the second time a choir sings, at the end the refrain is partly spoken by Freddy. The rest of the content is dealt with in two four-line verses in which the son's point of view is described: "I still know what mother wrote me, ... I sneaked away when mother was asleep. When she woke up I was on the sea. The first letter said, "Come back soon.""

Junge, komm bald wieder … Boy, come back soon, that's what all my Thai friends and their families are asking me.
They know this song, they know the lyrics.

Junge, komm bald wieder … Boy, come back soon, hums and sings and hopes a pack of innkeepers in Pattaya to whom I am tributary. Especially some expensive gogo bars on Walking Street and Soi Buakao.

Junge, komm bald wieder And of course, quite a few girls keep asking me on Facebook: Junge, komm bald wieder … boy, come back soon - when??? We are already looking forward to your lady drinks.

Let us listen to Freddy Quinn and his Junge, komm bald wieder Boy, come back soon.
The song begins with a wistful accordion riff, the concise musical motif of this song. It is its overture, so to speak.

  9. A memory from pre-Corona times.

An AIDA cruise ship from the Italian shipping company Costa Crociere has moored at the new Hamburg cruise terminal. I make my way to the port of Hamburg because I want to take a look at the scenery.
Of course, I'm an idiot and forgot my camera.

    Terminal1-verkleinert.jpg.1d213da9a7b8bd6e1b77aaeaa5243487.jpg

A long queue of people is waiting in front of the check-in hall.

They all want to get on the ship for an exciting trip, according to the motto: party, animation and club holidays.

In past decades, cruises were considered stiff, elitist and expensive. But then "the AIDA" came along as a club ship modelled on the very popular holiday clubs like Club Med. Today, a cruise is affordable for the average wage earner.

    Hamburg-Cruise-Center-verkleinert.jpg.ebdfab677448a02e18ac168ea39842c1.jpg

I borrowed the pictures from the internet. The rights holder will get over it.

Around the corner towards the quay is an open-air café. It is fully occupied.
To one side is a musician with his guitar and a semi-automatic drum kit or rhythm machine and two speakers.
His feet are in brown boots, he is wearing blue jeans and a warm tight-fitting Norwegian pullover. His open guitar case lies in front of him.
He plays and sings songs, hits and sea shanties that we all know.
I stop some distance away and listen, because the lad plays and sings not badly at all. He not only plays the chords and harmonies skilfully, but also melody runs and solos.
He is playing a song that made a big appearance in a movie with Harrison Ford 25 years after it was written.: “Der einzige Zeuge" or “ Witness".
On the threshing floor, in a barn with the Amish people. From an old car radio - if I remember correctly - Sam Cooke's song "What A Wonderful World" (1960) is playing. The couple, who is about to fall in love with each other, tentatively and carefully begin to do a few dance steps to the rhythm and beat of the song. He smiles at her in love, stretches his arm towards her, she hesitantly grasps his hand and slowly they begin their first, still awkward dance steps. An unforgettable scene, wonderfully and skilfully staged by director and cameraman.

Actually, this song comes from the high school milieu, but Sam is mainly pursuing interests outside of school:

    "Don't know much about history
    Don't know much about biology

Don't know much about a science book
Don't know much about the French I took".

The one sitting in the last row, in the last pew, knows only one thing well: that he is in love with his girl.

"But I do know that I love you
And I know that if you love me, too
What a wonderful world this would be"

This song begins with a suppressed "I". I suspect that most love songs begin with "I"; they number in the hundreds. This is also true of German love songs. From "I Can't Give You Anything But Love" to Cole Porter's "I Get A Kick Out Of You" to Roy Orbison's "I Can't Stop Loving You", the ego dominates, and from there it's only a small step to conceit and male egotism. Ricky Nelson boasts in "Travelin' Man" about his conquests in Mexico, Alaska and Hong Kong and with a "Fraulein" in Berlin.

Let us walk a little in thought in the dense forest of love songs.
Let's do a quick brainstorming of what spontaneously comes to my mind.

In part, erotic desires are also openly expressed.
Muddy Waters makes no ado about it: "I Just Want To Make Love To You".

The "Sixty Minute Man" advertises himself with the lines
"Well if your man ain't treatin' you right
Come up and see your Dan
I'll rock 'em, roll 'em all night long
    I'm a sixty minute man".

Sarah Vaughn promises in Gershwin's “The Man I Love”: “I’ll do my best to make him stay”.
In more demure times, sexual openness in the hit songs was at best involuntary. "Darling, I'm never lonely / Whenever you're inside". Now the chastity belt is loosened. "Juicy Fruit" is no kiwi.

And the bravado tenor makes unequivocal offers:
"Satisfaction Guaranteed" (1973) or "Save Your Love For Number One" (1985).

Women only occasionally remain unbaptised. The Temptations speak of "My Girl", John Denver "My Sweet Lady", Jose Feliciano leaves it at "Hey Baby" and Hank Williams at "Hey Good Lookin'". But the majority of the women have names that have gradually become almost an encyclopaedia. In fact, when looking for names, new parents turn to current Grammy Award winners and Grand Prix winners: Aura Lee, Betty, Carol, Caroline, Claudette, Clementine, Diana, Donna, Ginny, Jeannie, Jenny, Josephine, Laura, Leah, Lucille, Lucy, Margie, Maria Elena, Mary Lou, Mona Lisa, Nadine, Peggy Sue, Ramona, Samantha, Sheila, Teresa, Virginia.

These are joined by more detailed characterisations: Betty Blue, Dede Dinah, Little Lisa Jane, Little Lucy, Long Tall Sally, Sad Lisa, Skinny Minny, Sweet Caroline, Waltzing Matilda. Here and there one comes across a polite form of address, a full name or both: Miss Molly, Sweet Georgia Brown, Miss Annabelle Lee.

Since the days when wishing still helped, the first thing that matters is the outer, the woman's outward charm, and the man's curiosity, the male gaze, as one can call it.

"Ain't She Sweet" was first posed as a rhetorical question in 1927: "Ain't she sweet? See her walking down the street / Now I ask you very confidentially, ain't she sweet?"

All styles of music are open to love jesters. In one of the best-known rock'n'roll numbers, an unrestrained Little Richard describes his love madness:
"I got a gal, named Daisy /She almost drives me crazy / She knows how to love me / Yes indeed /
Boy you don't know / What she's doing to me / Tutti Frutti, all over rootie (five times) /
    A-wop-bop-a-loo-lop a-lop bam boo".

Incantations are meant to ward off disappointment: "Don't Ever Leave Me", "Don't Gamble With Love", "Don't Be That Way", but in the end many end up as cuckolds. Little Richard's "Lucille" and Chuck Berry's "Maybelline" turn out to be hussies. Andy Williams' "Butterfly" nibbles on many blossoms, yet he remains in bondage to her. Pat Boone weeps female infidelity with one of my favourite songs "Love Letters In The Sand".

    Ok ok I stop here.

  10. Memories of Khun Fah

It is raining in my heart, and I have made my reservation at the Heartbreak Hotel.
No, I'm not alone and lonely. They are all there:
    * my family, my daughter, all my friends; I am embedded in an intact social environment.
    * there is my beloved Düsseldorf old town with its 150 pubs, bars, music clubs, discos, trendy locations etc..
    * there's my beloved university library with its books,
    * there's our garden where I work like a slave,
    * and 18 m away there's the beer garden Stoffeln with host Joseph and his regular guests.
You can talk and discuss everything with them and drink a beer after work.

There is my regular Kneipe -  pub - in Düsseldorf
    https://de-de.facebook.com/Wellnetz/
with its first-class dishes and large portions at a ridiculously low price.
With its simple but warm guests.
    * the forklift driver who boasts with the stacking fork,
    * the lady cashier who sits at the cash desk at Aldi.
    * the receptionist girl at the doctor's practice around the corner,
    * the salesman in a large store for bicycles and small motor scooters.
    * the buddy at the saw in a large hardware store

    or Hamburg:
there is Meyer-Lansky's in the centre of Hamburg, near Gänsemarkt - goose market.
    https://www.meyer-lanskys.de/
with its snobbish Hamburg audience, guests and overpriced prices for various long drinks and cocktails.

And yet I am alone. There is no Khun Fah any more. I am living without her, and I am thinking of her.
We enjoyed a perfect dream in Jomtiem for three or four weeks.

I can't remember who took this picture. Was it Khun Phil? It can be.
At that time, Khun Fah was 38 years old; and she had received many a slap in the face from fate.
We had a lot in common.

A visit to the Big Buddha.

I go again and again to Hamburg Airport and Düsseldorf Airport watching the planes come in, but I cannot stand to see them land without her and sadness comes over me.
I am listening to blue songs, and these gloomy songs take me back to her. It is raining in my heart and now I know how Paul McCartney felt when he once sang: I wish it was Yesterday; you and me in Jomtiem. It is raining in my heart and now I know what Paul Simon meant by the words he found:
I wish I was Homeward Bound; back to Jomtiem and Khun Fah.
    I WISH IT WAS YESTERDAY.

    Have fun. Greetings from Deutschland

  11. May 2021 so far has been far too cold.
Right now on May 18, 2021 in the Hamburg area and in Düsseldorf we have just a ridiculous 14 degrees!
And occasional rain; 0.1 mm, 0.2 mm: that's nothing! and far too little! We need 20 mm and 30 mm and more!
The whole spring already since the beginning of March the northwest of Germany Hamburg, Bremen, the Ruhr area, the area of the Lower Rhine to south of Cologne has had much too little precipitation; but for that this area was a refrigerator.
Other areas of Germany, on the other hand, have literally been drowned in rain.
Our forests and agriculture in northwestern Germany urgently need penetrating rain and rising temperatures.

I have read today - 18.5.21 - in the newspapers that at the German North Sea coast and Baltic Sea coast the bathing season is opened.
This is a joke! Air temperature 13 degrees, water 10 degrees.
Does anyone feel like swimming? Where are the heroes?

  12. Some notes about this girl.

    1. she wears braces. Braces are certainly not sexy.

    2. on that day she was pretty dressed up: the reddish hair and a strong make-up.

In fact, on that day she did not look favourable.
I told her so; too much dolled up. Politely, of course.

    A few days later.

    781913114_CharlyandFah-radiert-DSC04878.jpg.fed30630a7fa35637e19f82d528fba28.jpg

Her knockers, boobies, mammaries, hooters were wonderful.

All real, all natural. No plastic, no silicone.

She was a bit shy and reserved.
But if you are polite and a bit charming to her, the ice breaks quickly.

    PS:

She was also a bit more expensive than the other Soi 6 girls.
But it was money well spent. Sweet memories. My spring flower.

  13. Or this one.

At that time the QUEEN of Soi 6 King Kong Bar, Pattaya.

She had a lot to offer.  1787349368_Fah-Soi6girlradiert-DSC04343.jpg.b2e4aa58dd106820ffc85eb41ba4d26f.jpg

This girl was as sweet and delicate as all my spring flowers of my garden put together!
My pansies, my hyacinths, crocuses, violets, primroses.
But she was also a very little bit poisoned.
Sweet memories to this girl with a little pinch of poison.

She was great fun. But time drags by so quckly. I hope she has a good time nowadays in her Isaan-town. Girl, sometimes I think of you.

  14. But I think you want other spring flowers.
    One like this:

Here we have a poisonous daffodil.
No, she was a very sweet one.
The picture was taken by Ben, then boss at Secrets Pattaya. "Carlsberg"

Look at her refined gesture of her left hand.
She gives us a glimpse of her sweet endowment.

    Yaeh, yaeh GUYS,

you want some daffodills. No problem for me. I have many daffodills in my garden.
    Aso a popular spring flower.
The daffodil is a timeless classic among spring flowers.
The daffodil or yellow narcissus (Narcissus pseudonarcissus) is a species within the narcissus genus, which belongs to the Amaryllis family (Amaryllidaceae). It is native to the damp mountain meadows of Western Europe. In Germany, the daffodil is a protected species. Also known as the "trumpet narcissus" because of its flowers, it can be found growing wild in the Eifel, among other places. For hundreds of years there have been cultivars and proven garden forms of Narcissus pseudonarcissus, which enjoy great popularity among hobby gardeners.

But beware: the daffodil and its varieties are poisonous in all parts.

  16. My main topic today: The tulip - the spring flower par excellence.

In Germany one of the most popular spring flowers is the tulip. Between March and May, it sprouts its bell-shaped flowers from the bulb - sometimes mottled, sometimes feathered, in white, yellow, orange, pink, red to purple.

In the following I refer and summarize what I have acquired knowledge on some German-language garden sites:

The tulip is a genus comprising over 5000 varieties, belonging to the lily family. From wild forms developed through breeding measures in the Orient - Persia - the garden tulips that are widely grown today. They are perennial, bulb-forming plants that can reach heights of up to sixty centimeters. Their basal leaves, about thirty centimeters long, are linear, almost ovate in appearance, and have wavy or smooth margins, depending on the variety. The bell-shaped, solitary flowers appear in many different colors, and after flowering they develop into cylindrical capsule fruits. Particularly attractive are the so-called parrot tulips, which are most common in the color combination blue-red-yellow and have wavy petal edges.

The bulb is dug in September or October at a depth of about 15 centimeters. The plant thrives in sunny or shady locations, but needs a well-drained soil. The bulb dies after flowering and forms a daughter bulb that sprouts and flowers the following season.
Here in Germany the tulip is the most popular spring flower of all, next to the daffodil.

    A historical reminiscence
For decades, the largest producer of tulips in the world is Holland.
The tulip became known in Central Europe through Ogier Ghiselin de Busbecq, the envoy of Emperor Ferdinand I. As a diplomat in Turkey in the 16th century, he received some tulip bulbs as a gift.

Busbecq sent tulip seeds and bulbs to Charles de l'Ecluse, who was first imperial court gardener in Vienna and later professor at the University of Leidenin Holland. He was the first to cultivate tulips in the Netherlands, but only for scientific purposes.

Due to a theft from his garden, the plants spread on the free market. Within a very short time, the tulip became the fashion flower par excellence.

In the 17th century, the tulip was considered the queen among flowers and became a gigantic object of speculation. Between 1634 and 1637, the period of tulpomania, bids of up to 10,000 guilders were made in Holland for a bulb of the "Semper Augustus," a multicolored tulip with white stripes. At the time, that was the equivalent of an Amsterdam townhouse.
However, tulip bulbs became a financial disaster for many Dutch people.
The tulip craze ended with a huge stock market crash that put many a speculator out of business. But even today the tulip is the favorite flower of the Dutch and as a mass product affordable for everyone.
Thank Buddha! I love my tulips, especially on cold days of early spring.

  17. My garden in Düsseldorf
In the cold - much too cold - spring months of March, April, May 2021.

I love this piece of nature with its about 600 m². Our family has this garden now 62 years. Earlier in the 60s it was a pure vegetable and fruit garden. Today we have mainly flowers and ornamental shrubs, a large lawn and in addition a few fruit bushes such as gooseberries, currants - red and black - and blueberries and a few perennials of rhubarb.
We use these fruits mainly for pies during the summer months!
Rhubarb pie with whipped cream, a specialty of my sister.

Or I eat the fruits as a delicious dessert; currants with a little sugar on top, a delicacy.

The best thing about our garden is the fact that directly opposite is the Biergarten-Stoffeln.
In the late afternoon around 5 or 6 p.m. after work is done, I like to stop by there to have a few Alt beers; a Düsseldorf beer specialty.

To the end of the day a few beers. Prosit!

She thinks she has overcome the Corona disease.
She sends me this picture as proof. She says she has hardly any pain, fever, cough or other symptoms of illness.
Now she just has to endure a few more days in the quarantine ward and then she will be released.

I am also very happy that she has overcome the disease.

But where and on what occasion did she catch it?
She spent many months in her hometown, a small provincial town about 70 km west of Udon Thani. There she started a love affair with a married Thai man, father of two small children. He, however, separated from her and returned to his wife and children.
She did not know what to do. Pattaya was almost devoid of tourists, the bars and gogos were almost all closed.
Nevertheless, she went to Pattaya at the end of March to work as a service girl in a Thai pub to earn at least a few Baht.
This Thai pub is actually only for Thai guests; farlangs do not go there.
The place belongs to good friends of hers who offered her this job.
But after about 2 weeks she realised the futility of her trip to Pattaya and returned home. Even a few Baht could not be earned there. Because the Thais who frequented this Thai pub are all employed in the Pattayan tourism industry and therefore had no money to go out there in the evening.
About 8 or 9 days after her return, she developed flu symptoms; she went to the local hospital and the examinations revealed the terrible diagnosis: Corona! She went to the quarantine ward and received medical treatment and now she has beaten Corona.
    That is the whole story.
Her trip to Pattaya - carried by the desperate hope of earning some money - gave her the corona infection and the disease.

What is the moral of the story?
What can be learned from it?
Watch out, keep your distance, get vaccinated quickly and hope you don't get infected yourself.

  19. Back to the corona sick girl.
She tells me that she had the usual symptoms of a cold for about four to five days: fever, aching limbs and an unpleasant dry cough; long-lasting painful coughing fits.
Since today, the fever has gone down, as have the coughing fits. The body aches are still there, but are becoming more bearable.
In other words, she has obviously overcome the illness. She is on the road to recovery.
However, she has to stay in the quarantine ward for a total of 14 days.
Only then will she be released.
She sent me this picture. It shows her lying in a hospital bed, with part of the hospital room in the background.

    Neeon-hospital-400-radiert.thumb.jpg.d0ea40a7eb2210635e9056c1cb284484.jpg

    She looks quite strained.

Girl, come back to life. You'll make it. I am sure.

  20. We are still in a current of freezing cold polar air.
In the evening after sunset the temperature in the Hamburg area drops to 3° degrees.
During the day the in-flowing cold air is "warmed up" to about 9° degrees by the already high position of the sun 5555,
    9° degrees. Fantastically warm.
When I went shopping earlier, I bought the first ice cream of this young season: "Cremissimo Stracciatella".
Wonderfully creamy, interspersed and sprinkled with little pieces of chocolate. Guys, a real treat.

Just now, in the evening, after the 8 o'clock TV news "Tagesschau", I ate the whole ice cream in one rut, no, I enjoyed it, celebrated it. 900 ml, 520 g.
It was also so cold in my room that I warmed up on this cold ice cream - fresh from the icebox of my fridge!
Now I feel sick! I have a stomach ache.
There is nothing else I can do: I turn the heating up to full power!

22 April. It's enough to make your teeth chatter.
Where, pray tell, is global warming?
The meteorologists tell us we are experiencing the coldest April in Germany for almost 100 years.

And there is no end to the ice age in sight.
It's supposed to get even colder.

Hey, local expats, can't we make a deal?
You give us 10 degrees of warmth and we give you 10 degrees of cold.
Then we would have a fair compensation and we would have pleasant spring temperatures,
and it wouldn't be so hot and oppressive in Pattaya.

  21. When the low season gradually started after March 2016, she went back to her town. There she fell in love with a married Thai man who already had two or three children. The end of the story: today she has a sweet four-year-old daughter.

When she told me about the affair with the married Thai man and its consequences, I was disappointed and horrified, but at the same time I was happy for her.
Last October, November, she got involved again with a married Thai man from her town. He had promised to leave his wife and come to her. He did not keep his promise. He stayed with his wife and children.
Thank Buddha, this relationship remained without consequences.

For months she has been complaining to me that she is single, that she has no boyfriend.
What can one say about this female behaviour? I don't understand the logic of her behaviour.
Why does she get involved with married men? She has shown me photos or sent them to me.
Sure, they are handsome men; they look good. But married? She must be aware that she is destroying a marriage, that she is taking the father away from small children.
Rich? None of them were rich. Maybe an income slightly above the average men earn in Isaan.
She is so pretty, so attractive, very sexy(!!!). It must be very easy for her to find a boyfriend who is single like her.

What could be the deeper reasons for this weird logic of her heart?
Could it be that she wants some form of revenge? Revenge on her fate of growing up without a father?
One would have to read Sigmund Freud again ...

  22. Now it has happened.

A Pattaya girl I have known since March 2016 has contracted Corona and is in the hospital of her hometown in the quarantine ward. I reported about this girl on German and English language boards in March 2016.

I wrote enthusiastically about this girl; corresponding to my memory:
I kept coming back to this bar because of one particular girl. She was young, incredibly beautiful, radiantly gorgeous, 19 or just 20 years old. Charming, smiling, friendly girl, always in a good mood, turning to me in a friendly way.
Every Baht spent on this lady was well invested. If anyone enjoyed Sanuk, it was me.

A cute thing with fantastic boobies; oh my goodness ..... all real, all natural, no plastic.
Her breasts are simply world class. I have never seen such wonderful big boobs on another Thai girl, not in my 28 year career. I spent great hours with this girl.

If I had been around 28 years at the time, I would have fallen madly in love with this girl.
What would I have done then?
Would I perhaps have become a Liebeskasper or a Liebesclown – a love freak, love clown?
How would I have fared when I returned home a few days or 2 weeks later?
I would have been broken. My family would have wondered, would have worried.
After three months my boss would have had a first serious talk with me and after another month he would have fired me. I would have crawled into a corner or better I would have moved to a heartbreak hotel and died of lovesickness there. And as I slowly die, I softly sing that old Spanish song we all know:

When I left Pattaya, I left my life, I left my love   ---> instad of Cuba --> Pattaya
When I left Pattaya, I left my heart buried
When I left Pattaya, I left its sky, I left its sun
I lost my girl and I left my broken heart

Since that time, we have seen each other every year. During this time we have developed a kind of father-daughter relationship. Her father passed away when she was a small child; she grew up without a father, so to speak.

But she has a big disadvantage. Ugly tottoos.
Already 5 years ago I advised her not to get any more tattoos.  Large parts of her body are covered with ugly tattoos.
I told her clearly at that time that she had really destroyed her beautiful body by the tattoos, made it ugly.
She has not had any new ones done since.
Thank God! She seems to have listened to me.

Now some pictures. 19, 20 years young. She is overwhelming.

a more recent picture  -  she has been looking for a boyfriend for months.
    Any volunteers?
