  1. Incidentally, being popular doesn't equate to being a leader, just ask the biggest butt in the known world, Kim Kardashian.
  2. "Constant barrage of selfies and photos every day." could be amended to "Constant barrage of selfies and photos every minute of every hour of every day." Civilisation has changed, in the coming generations, only those who know the modern equivalent of "Don't believe anything you read", will have a chance of rising above the masses. I think George Orwell's 1984, underestimated the moronity that is capable of being achieved in the populace. Is moronity a word? Answers on the back of a twit, send it to hashbrown#whateverisyourfavourite and then we'll know who's really popular
  3. I would imagine that the duty free shop in whatever Army base she was being held at, was considered to be substandard, indeed cruel and unusual punishment.

    Nightlife News

I can vouch for that, I had to stay next door on my recent visit. And a fine visit it was too.... On the coup, I was let out of LOS with MLG no problems - the 20 or soldiers, took a good look in my car for reds under the back seat but were polite and friendly. Also in the Glorious People's Republic, the coup has not been reported, not one story I can find anywhere. Too nerve-wracking to think about?

    Coup Declared

Maybe they're summoning folk such as Charnvit Kasetsiri, so they can get a balanced picture, or a balanced box of ideas to go forward with. But then why summon Pokemon?
  6. I'm not supporting the "Buzz" just an an opinion from me
  7. I would agree that this coup has approval from somewhere (sorry Flash, JMHO)

    Coup Declared

Tried to find an appropriate thread for this bit of information, this thread seems the best. On Friday morning the border crossing to Laos at Nong Khai was closed to Foreigners (both ways), and Thais exiting Thailand. By the afternoon, Foreigners (me) were allowed into Thailand and out again today (Sunday). There's a significant Army presence checking faces and passports of everyone exiting Thailand. But friendly fellows, the soldiers were. Got stopped four times in 10 minutes by police trying to shake me down for money though. 200 bht no seatbelt.
  9. Missy, go to NZ if you want PC. For a start I wouldn't be allowed to call you Missy. Some 150kg feminazis would pillory me for doing so.
  10. To continue the thread hijack, yes I believe this is accurate.
  11. I'm with Steve. Ban people because you can, that's power I want.
  12. I visited NNB twice recently, he wasn't in evidence, there was 1 prehistoric crone dancing. I'm not sure how this place survives.
  13. Aahhh, but then there are the gems. The People's Security Museum, a pythonesque tribute to an early James Bond movie, ask Munchie. Also the Army Museum, surprisingly well done for what it is.

    Beef Wellington

I agree, it is difficult, but the key is that the beef is substantially cooked already before you put the mushroom duxelle on. Also when the duxelle is being prepared, even though there's wine in it, it's important to evaporate most of the moisture out of it, so it's relatively, but not totally dry. I've not heard of using pancakes as a moisture barrier, but I have heard of Pancetta. I imagine thinly sliced Salami would be interesting.

    Coup Declared

For what it's worth. All the Thai TV here In Laos has gone. G'ma is fretting as shes's not able to enjoy her daily dose of Red Rhetoric. But why did they shut the movies down ? Still have CNN via Vietnam. Going to Nong Khai tomorrow. That'll be interesting. 4 months on the passport and a coup. Will report if there's anything to say.
  16. Because this whole shit slapping square dance, is because a run away criminal fugitive is still exercising control over a government and a country. Even though he periodically says he isn't and has left politics. Despite his obvious irrelevance, he seems to have enough support to f**k the country. And the Thai nation can't, f**k him back it seems.
  17. In a fairy kingdom not so far from Thailand, the biggest market in the biggest city burnt down. Now in this Kingdom, when construction works take place, they put up a fence of green sheet steel around the site. All the sites everywhere use the same green sheet steel, the contractor must be a relative of someone important, no other kinds of fencing for constructions sites are ever seen. The aforementioned market, burnt down in the evening. There was a green steel construction fence around the considerable area of the ruins, by seven the next morning.
  18. Or maybe we are divorced from fantasy land...
  19. IMHO the posting of pictures on Social Media has always been a problem, zillions of feckless morons posting pictures of cats or themselves in the mistaken belief that these are somehow important. The time spent on Social Media is a net loss to Society.
