  1. Watched Blade Runner again last night, I find it one of the best movies of all times if not the best Sci-Fi film (up their with the original Time machine). The movie has one of the best near ending lines, "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die." Ps I would add 10 stars but the new board won't let me do so ... I get a "You have posted a message with more emoticons that this board allows. Please reduce the number of emoticons you've added to the message" message
  2. Sure is, I said it But should we feign any admiration for their made up worlds? ... if your a good singer, great, a nice way to make a living, but they are not gods or spiritual leaders of great thought. Also, a self addicted drug addict who acts like a whore is not what I would consider a great fantasy world. Would you want your daughter to live the life she did, I don't think I would want that for my daughter. She had one big hit, and has been described as a great singer but for what - dead at 27? I do like my music, and it is sad when those who you grew up with pass away, but of natural causes. I have never been one to put up rock stars as some form of demigods. But yes, a sad end to a short life
  3. oan_WhqoD10 It is sad that anyone is dead before their time, but those who want to live in a fantasy world, take drink and drugs to excess, well, go figure
  4. Watched it last night, yes, a very good film, and the trigger that brought down the American mafia
  5. Maybe, he is now being sued by his lawyer - nothing amazes me in the adventures of Mekong
  6. I was wondering what 'bump' was referring to
  7. In Europe, some battle in France, I cannot recall the name of the battle or the place, but have heard about it many times ... whilst there is no argument that the Americans forces, through their numbers and skill, eventually won the war in the Pacific, and the English and the Yanks eventually won the war in Europe, it was those two battle that gave the allies the belief that the Germans and Japs could be defeated and turned back
  8. PNG actually ... we turned them back on the Kakoda trail (track) with help from the fuzzy wuzzies
  9. The POMS inseminated us from the beginning, which is not a bad thing ... if the French got here first, maybe we would all be talking German or Japanese ... one small point in history, it was Australian victories in battle, in both the Pacific and in France, that began to turn the tide against the invading forces
  10. The good old days, when politicians do how to talk and converse, and could deal with answering questions on a broad range of topic, with some form of genuine knowledge, and their first ladies were that, ladies. These days, all we get are puppets, and actors ... our current Australian Prime Minister is the most stupid ignorant phoney I have ever met, she makes South American dictators look peaceful and competent
  11. I was chatting up one thai girl who claimed to be a lawyer, off one of these thai dating sites, she was very hot, carried a few extra pounds for your typical thai girl, but still slim for western standards ... I was wondering if it was this one, but she said she concentrated on criminal law ... I may have to drop her a line, see if she may be the one I still don't think she is thinking to rationally, if I was you Mekong, I may consider a new lawyer. However, this all seems to be very similar to a Seinfeld plot
  12. I heard about it on Jeju Island, CNN was carrying the story ... it's about all I get, no fecking Australian network (which is a free channel, and which I got in Seoul, Pusan, Gyeongdo)
  13. She sounds like a real professional
  14. I lost a first cousin in Vietnam, he had finished his tour of duty, was flying back on a chopper to return home-side and got shot by a sniper whilst in the chopper ... life can be short, so, enjoy it, even if you may not consider it the be oh so great
  15. Maybe Mekongs imagination is running away with itself (again)?! Yes' date=' i was wondering, is this fiction or non fiction ... [youtube']WqGvSqFhlkY
  16. Sleeping Beauty: Between her university studies, various casual jobs and bizarre friendship with a suicidal drug addict, Sara, the working name of the ice-cold Lucy, is put to sleep for "erotic" sessions with wealthy old men. How many more films do we have to watch about drug addicts, as if they are the norm in society ... just because the star is a young and sexy nymph it is art-house, but if it is a 50 year old balding twat it's a B grade porno film
  17. You nickname on this board from now on shall be Timmy Two Times F-PHCaf9JnE
  18. Some say it was loosley based on John Ford's the Searchers. In fact, some of Clint's films are bits and pieces of old John Wayne or classic western films, another one that comes to mind is Clint's "Unforgiven", which has many correlations to "Shane" Yes, I agree, Gran Torino was a good film
  19. My time clock starts 1 day away from LOS and counting
  20. Oh, I think he is still here, just another name, but a bit quieter
  21. Yes, but is it a recent pic
