The end games is test and contain until a vaccine is available. It is essentially what S. Korea did when the virus hit. https://theweek.com/articles/907856/south-koreas-coronavirus-success Both countries saw their first coronavirus cases on the same day, Jan. 20. By April 2, the U.S. had more than 240,000 cases and more than 5,800 deaths. Most businesses were shut down or crippled, and more than 10 million people had filed for unemployment in two weeks. In contrast, South Korea on April 2 had fewer than 10,000 confirmed cases and 169 deaths. The disease rate there appears to be both low and stable, yet no South Korean city has gone under a full lockdown, and the main economic losses were in the tourism industry. Few people lost their jobs. The difference is that South Korea sprang into action with early mass testing, tracking and isolating all contacts of those infected. It started developing and stockpiling test kits in early January, as soon as Chinese scientists released the virus's genetic code and before a single Korean had been infected.

The conditions on the USS Roosevelt only came out because the Capt. was ignored by the command and he sent emails to get help for his crew. The conditions on the aircraft carrier was NEVER released by the Navy until his email was leaked. The USA has bases in S. Korea, Germany, and Japan. It is obvious that some military personnel would get infected, but the Pentagon has not released any information.

That would be considered a State secret. Just like there are no numbers for the USA military infected with the virus.

Lack of test availability is a continuing problem. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/houston-hasn-t-reported-surge-coronavirus-cases-its-hospitals-tell-n1175291?fbclid=IwAR0Gt8WGiwQsHS-wg8aITXbNuc3vxHQPJ3Wyrs-rcQ-NliYYGXl6MSLJ9C0 So far, Houston, the nation’s fourth largest city, has not recorded a swell of confirmed coronavirus cases similar to those straining health care systems in New York and Detroit, giving some residents hope that stay-at-home orders issued by local officials came early enough to stop the virus from spreading too widely here. But interviews with Houston ICU doctors and nurses — as well as the daily rise in the number of critically ill patients now showing up in their hospitals — paint a more sobering picture of what’s happening in southeast Texas. While limited testing has prevented officials here and across the state from getting a complete accounting of how many people have been infected with the coronavirus, hospitals in greater Houston have seen a steep increase — 40 percent over four days — in the number of patients believed to be suffering from the virus, according to a daily census of hospital admissions collected by the SouthEast Texas Regional Advisory Council, which helps coordinate emergency response efforts.

That jury has come back with a guilty verdict! Health officials say the large cats got sick from being exposed to a zoo employee who had COVID-19, but was asymptomatic. The Bronx Zoo has been closed since mid-March; the first tiger began showing signs of sickness on March 27, according to the USDA. No other animals in the zoo are experiencing coronavirus symptoms, officials said. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/tiger-bronx-zoo-tests-positive-for-coronavirus-today-2020-04-05/

    S. Korea did extensive testing, including those with no apparent symptoms. People are infectious, before having symptoms and some never develop symptoms! Why can't people understand that simple bit of info?

He used 3 different drugs, so which one worked? All his patients were not having severe symptoms. Maybe a dose of Santip would have the same effect. Maybe they recovered inspite of being dosed with a drug cocktail. Clinical trials are happening now with several different drugs.
  9. FYI AIS has a hidden webpage to do an online top up of your SIM. I tried using it, but was unsuccessful. I went through all the steps and got a passcode from my CC bank. Entered the passcode and AIS was unable to complete the transaction. Then I went to recharge.com. Typed in my phone number and it couldn't verify the number. It had the option to just say the number is good. I tried that option and it worked. I received a sms from AIS that my SIM got topped up. Finally success. Might have to top up 'til 2022.

May 2018, Trump closes pandemic office. Public health and national security experts shake their heads when President Donald Trump says the coronavirus "came out of nowhere" and “blindsided the world.” They've been warning about the next pandemic for years and criticized the Trump administration's decision in 2018 to dismantle a National Security Council directorate at the White House charged with preparing for when, not if, another pandemic would hit the nation. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/trump-disbanded-nsc-pandemic-unit-experts-praised-69594177

Several EU countries ordered rapid CV-19 tests from Chinese companies. They discovered that the tests are accurate 20%-30% of the time! If China is using this to screen folks, their numbers are just crap.
