  1. Sundays game will be the "Line is the Sand" if United scrape a 1-0 win I will be happy. Yes, I have been raving about Adnan Januzaj for a few months now, this guy is brilliant and him signing up for 5 years was better than any new signing. I saw the kid in the U21 team last season and he stood out, I even topk my father who is now 80 years old and still tell me that Duncan Edwards is the best player he has ever seen in his life but now he thinks Januzji is better, if my old man thinks it good enough for me.
  2. In homage to Guy Fawkes who on this day back in 1605 tried to bring down the British government by sticking a few kegs of gunpowder under the houses of parliament and tried to blow them all up,

  8. South China Sea actually, OK not due South East probably more South South East and by road not as the crow flies, pedantic old fool.
  9. All the bars and clubs closed at 10 PM last night, looking out of apartment window every building is flying the "Co do sao vang" where as yesterday only about a third of the buildings were flying it. Going for a walk around now for a look see, I am about 150 KM SE of Hanoi in rural Vietnam.
  10. Well according to online application form http://www.acro.police.uk/uploadedFiles/Police%20Certificate%20Application%20Form%20-%20ENGLISH%20-%20July%202013-2.pdf it is 45 Quid plus 48 Quid for international courier service.
  11. No this is à¹à¸šà¸š ฟอร์ม คำร้องขอหนังสือรับรองความประพฤติ (Application for thai clearance certificate) Can be used when applying to reside in other countries where a Police Clearance Certificate is required to support the long term visa / work permit application, in my case Vietnam. Can only be issued a Royal Thai Police HQ. http://pcscenter.sb.police.go.th/filedownload/infomation-service-4.pdf
  12. RM, If here for over 6 Months on Non-Imm B and wish to change to Non-Imm O Retirement visa then they will issue a clearance certificate it you have kept your nose clean, strangely enough clearance is only a requirement for retirement visa and not married or business visa's, not sure about ED since I have never had one myself. As I mentioned in my original post, this may be useful for someone who has worked in Thailand on a Non-Imm B and wishes to change Visa to Non-Imm O when retiring. (Only silly old fools like me begger off to countries where police report is required for work permit)
  13. Cav, That is why I posted it in Expat and Family Matters forum, as I said it may only be applicable to a small percentage of BM's but handy to know, this is what forums are for. I did not even know that a certificate could be issued to an expat until yesterday when the wife made a couple of phone calls yesterday afternoon, and they told us exactly what was required. The officer who dealt with me said it is easier to do a check on expats since if I had have been arrested in Thailand I would have had my visa revoked and been holed up in IDC awaiting deportation. I am sure that not many Expats know that this service is available since I was the only Farang in the building, plenty of Thai's there who required it for overseas work or study but I was the only white face in the whole building.
  14. Some BM's may have been in Thailand for a few years and need a Police Clearance Certificate to obtain a visa for another country and others may have worked in THailand for a few years and finally retire here on a Non-Imm O retirement visa. No need to go to your home country or to make an application from your home country it can be done in Bangkok. Police Headquarters on Phra Ram 1, opposite Siam Paragon, must of passed the place on 1,000's of occasions without realising how big the complex is on the inside. Once through the main gate take a diagonal left across the compound and building 24 is on the first sub soi on the left and that is the department. Dependent on what you need the certificate for dictates which documents are required, in my case self notorized copy of passport cover page and visa and a copy of my Agreement of Assignment (work contract) for the country I needed the certificate for. From submitting documents to ensure everything is in order, filling in the forms, having photo's taken, fingerprinting paying the 100 Baht fee and then having request registered took less than 30 minutes, the Police on duty are very helpful and also quite proficient in English, it went a lot smoother than expected. Me being me, I had copies of Marriage Certificate, Condo rental agreement, bank books etc, 20 odd years of living in Thailand and dealing with different branches of the civil service has taught me to expect the unexpected and be prepared to be asked for anything. They did ask me if I had ever been in trouble with the police in Thailand and I was honest once busted for dropping a cigarette butt near Benji Park and 2-3 speeding offences where 200 Baht changed hands and no details were recorded, they had a laugh about that. This service is not available to everyone, you need to have been here on a long term visa, NO OVERSTAYS, and have the correct documents to support the reason why the clearance certificate is required but it is a handy service and a whole lot cheaper than the 12,500 Baht plus it would have cost me getting the same from my home country.
  15. Bad day for City, Huh try being a United fan, after you lot stuffed us last weekend we rolled over to WBA at home. I was prepared to give Moyes time but it really does appear that he does not know what he is doing or what his best line up is and is starting players / making substitutions to appease the fan base rather than for tactical reasons, he is out of his depth. As much as I would like to see Chelsea lose every game I did feel that the Red for Torres was a little harsh it was 50/50 and could have been awarded either way, unfortunately Jose has now realised that Mata serves the team better on the pitch rather than collecting splinters in his bum. I still stand by my pre season prediction that in may be Spurs this year, AVB has a very strong squad and they will be there or there about come the end of the Season, as for my team finishing fourth is the best trophy they can achieve.
  16. MM That made me spit coffee on my screen, cant. For those suffering from long term memory loss
  17. We still have Ian Holloway, CLASS
  18. Hats off to City, your boys ran us off the park today, City were dynamic and United were pedestrian, but as you say early days yet. Glad someone enjoyed the result, excuse whilst I now bang me head against a wall. Kong
  19. Enjoy the game, I hope we spoil the day for you
  20. Didn't see the Arsenal game last night decided to watch the Barcelona v Ajax match instead yet another Lionel Messi show. As for Chelsea what can I say (once I stop laughing) they got what they deserved, the fans hounded Rafa out, the same Rafa who's Napoli sit at the top of Serie A and had a win against last seasons losing finalists. Imagine if Rafa had lost away to Everton then home to Basel in back to back games the fans would have been baying for his blood but Mourinho can do no wrong in their blinkered opinion. Steve, you mention Mourinho's system, what is it? he inherited a squad full of gifted midfield players, Mata, Oscar, Hazard etc then goes and buys three more, Willian, Schurrie and van Ginkel. Chelsea's best forward last season was playing for West Brom on loan, Lakuka and this season he loans him out to Everton and brings in a 32 year old Eto on a free transfer. The Not so Special one any more.
  21. Munchie, What are your feelings towards independence, no need to answer if you don't wish to my grandfather taught me never talk about politics, religion or football in a bar, but it would be interesting to hear your take on the matter.
  22. Decent performance from Moyes boys last night, there best performance under Moyes and I will go as far to say their best performance for a couple of years now, apart from a couple of defensive lapses and missing a couple of sitters. Fellani looks as if he was born to wear the shirt, he is what United have been missing for a few season now a bit of defensive steel in the midfield, not pretty to watch at times but effective a good old fashioned spoiler, which in turn allows Rooney to concentrate on the attacking side of his game rather than having to track back and help out in midfield, United seemed more balanced. First goal should never have stood, Valencia was all over the BL keeper in an offside position, if that is not interfering with play I don't know what is, the second was Valencia of old taking on defenders beating them and whipping in a decent cross, at first I thought he has screwed up playing the ball behind RvP but RvP pulled out a top drawer finish that took the BL keeper by surprise, it took me by surprise. But for me the fourth goal was typical United of old, defending deep then a classic counter attack three passes and in the back of the net, RvP won the ball on the edge of his own area plays it wide to Young, good pass to Rooney who then plays a perfectly weighted pass in front of Valencia one touch then rifles in from outside the box, that was worth this months True Vision fees alone, but the wife was pissed of cos my shouting woke her up haha. United still have Adnan Januzaj to unleash, the reason he was not on the bench last night is because he was not named in the European squad of 25 but in October he will be eligible as a "Pool B" player for Europe since he will have been at the club for 30 months and then classed as "Home Grown", in the Premier League the rule is only 24 months and the number 7 shirt is still vacant. Not getting too carried away but an impressive performance non the less, the big one is on Sunday at the Emptyhead Stadium against our noisy neighbours, Fellani v Yaya Tourre should be some match up and if both players are still on the pitch at full time I will be surprised. Good Luck to Arsenal tonight, yes I do get behind then when playing in Europe and I hope that Chelsea screw up big time, detest that club.
