There is also a spike in Covid deaths here in USA that is not related to increased testing. Is that too hard to understand? I agree that increase in testing can increase the number cases but not deaths.

Did someone mention coup? Michael Flynn Wants Trump To Declare Martial Law And Redo The Election https://www.yahoo.com/huffpost/michael-flynn-martial-law-new-election-192704689.html

Som nam naa is a common phrase used in Thailand which is roughly the equivalent of saying 'serves you right' or 'you got what you deserved'.

What surprised me was that people with Covid in Canada are twice as likely to die than in USA. I thought the Canadians had a better healthcare system. Sorry to say, it looks like Britons with Covid are FIVE times more likely to die, according to Johns Hopkins. https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2020/08/05/899365887/charts-how-the-u-s-ranks-on-covid-19-deaths-per-capita-and-by-case-count

I didn’t vote for Trump in the last two elections. But, if you take away all the rhetoric and just concentrate on concrete benefits you were provide by the Federal Government during the past four years, Trump starts looking better. I'm better off financially since Trump became president, for example. Maybe history will be kinder to Trump.

Donald Trump ranked worst president in US history by nearly 200 political scientists https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-worst-president-presidential-greatness-survey-president-s-day-obama-george-washington-a8218721.html

Those smart/normal people who voted for Trump tend to be morally deficient in my opinion. My guess is that a large fraction of the population can be considered immoral, and a small fraction considered insane. When you add up the dummies, the morally deficient, and the crazies, you can get the tens of millions who voted for Trump
-
My take is that people who voted for Trump tend to be dumb, morally deficient, and/or insane. There are lot of those around. You have to remember that half the population have IQs less than 100.

Trump just replaced some top military leaders. They think he may be planning some military action. Hope he's not planning a coup.
-
That may be better for Trump since there is no extradition treaty between US and Russia. He could avoid jail time.
-
When this all began, the initial trusted projection was 1 - 2 million deaths in the US. The numbers are still way short of that. We may have a way to go yet.
-
He can only pardon people for federal crimes, not state crimes. So, even if he succeeds in pardoning himself, states can still investigate and prosecute.
-
You've been listening to Trump too long. God punishes devil worshipers severely, not so with mongers.

The question is: is there even a remote possibility that, when it's time for Trump to move out, the military/ss/police are with Trump and not Biden???
-
Suppose Biden wins and shows up at the White House for the move-in, but Trump refuses to move out. Biden can call the military and throw Trump out. It could get VERY ugly....[hopefully, the military will obey Biden and not Trump at that point].

There is a saying that you don’t have REAL power until they start going along with your lies. It looks like Trump was going for that REAL power by telling more lies than one can possibly imagine but the American people have rejected him for the most part.

The pics show protesters packed like sardines. Los has low Covid infection rate but that could be a super-spreader event. With only 7 new cases reported yesterday for the whole country, maybe they need not worry.
-
There was a defense minister-Rumsfeld, I think. He used to say things like: there are known laws, unknown laws, known unknown laws, known unknown known laws, etc. The man was out of it. 😝

There are laws and there are unwritten laws — l use it loosely.

Trump joked that he may leave the country if he loses the election. Given that he's in legal troubles with IRS and New York (to name a couple), it would make sense. I don't think he can set his foot in NY again, even though he's from there. NY is out to get him for felonies. If it wasn't for the fact that laws prohibit indictment of a sitting president, he would probably be in jail now.

I was looking at the published odds of Trump & Biden winning the election and Trump was leading until last June when the rioting broke out in some of the cities. Since then Biden has doubled his lead over Trump. It looks like the riots were the turning point for Trump.

RIP - I was just thinking about him a few days ago. I used to read his columns back in the day. According to Stickman’s interview in 2004, Trink said he remembered when BGs used to charge 100 baht for the night. Trink made only 500 baht each month back then...so it was very expensive then it seems.

You're a funny guy, Cross. 😁

Maybe a "W" shaped. There is a downside to the governments printing more money to help the people and the businesses affected by the pandemic -- HYPERINFLATION. A good place to be in hyperinflation is gold, which has been going up lately. Also, real estate and commodities.
-
The governments have to keep the money flowing to the people and the businesses who have lost money to the pandemic, less there will be more social unrest. I don't think there will be a major crash as long as the money keeps flowing. Eventually the people will be immunized or get used to the new normal. The economy looks like it's in the middle of a 'V" shaped recovery -- the S&P500 lost about a third of it's value last March but recovered most of the losses.
