  1. If you have a checking account at a US bank, you could probably use free ACH transfer to move money into accounts at Schwab. I use ACH transfer mostly to move money.
  2. Schwab is a good company to work with. I have an Investor Checking account and a brokerage account with them. I don't use the ATM card very often but they do refund fees.
  3. Your post reminds me of an American expat I knew down in La Ceiba, Honduras. We had many a drinks together. He also loved the boobs of the local hot women. He didn’t do the attractions down below, only boobs, big ones. He said he didn’t have to wear rubbers or worry about STDs that way. He would squeeze them together and ….
  4. For the last several years, I have been using zennioptical.com. They do excellent work, have an outstanding reputation, and ship world over. Prices are much less than brick and mortar places but you need a prescription and to upload your photo to try on glasses. My last annual eye exam showed that the glasses that I ordered from them a year ago were still still good and that I didn't need to get another one. They also make computer glasses, which basically corrects your far vision to distance between you and the computer. They have a formula that you can plug your prescription into for this. Because the prices are so low, I ordered two bifocal computer glasses in addition to my regular progressive transitions.
  5. Their local sparkling wine (sekt) is better than the beer IMHO. I lived for about a year in Hanau -- the sekt I drank there was outstanding.
  6. From Bangkok Bank website: "You cannot transfer funds from Bangkok Bank's account in Thailand to your account with banks or online payment service providers in the US via Bangkok Bank's New York branch and the ACH system." http://www.bangkokbank.com/BangkokBank/PersonalBanking/DailyBanking/TransferingFunds/TransferringIntoThailand/ReceivingFundsfromUSA/Pages/ReceivingFundsfromUSA.aspx
  7. I bought a new car about a year ago. I wanted to pay cash but they offered me $500 off if financed through their company. There was no penalty for paying off the loan early. So, I took the loan; paid it off the following month; and saved almost $500.
  8. Whenever my card is used for cash withdrawal, I get a notification by email right away. My account has a $500 daily ATM withdrawal limit, so they would not get much before I get wind of it.
  9. "She never saw it coming. This is the moment a pair of seemingly angelic kid thieves swiped a tourist’s watch right off her wrist while posing for a photo with her in Thailand, according a Reddit post......." http://nypost.com/20...g-this-picture/ ... This is a little unexpected, especially with the kids in their traditional costume.
  10. I made $1,500 on eBay this month. I bought eBay stocks 4 months ago, it went up 30% in 3 months, and I sold.
  11. It looks like you admitted in a public forum that you sold stolen property on eBay. Are you sure you didn't purchase it in the hotel gift shop? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vietnam-Saigon-Rex-Hotel-Ashtray-Ash-Tray-Vintage-/231987110652?hash=item36038262fc:g:~NsAAOSwMNxXaZXP.
  12. If you tell Yahoo about your forgetting the password and about this possible phishing scam, they may be able to help you reset your password.
  13. Don't click on that link; instead, close the bowser, then reopen the browser and log in to this Yahoo account. Change your password then see if this mobile number was actually added to your account. If it was actually added, then your account was probably hacked; but most likely, what you got is an attempted phishing scam, not a hacked email account.
  14. In Japan, it's so bad that they use pushers to squeeze people into train like sardines.
  15. Time they are a changing....
  16. I remember years back in the Red Light District of Amsterdam, a very beautiful redhead from Canada was telling me that her father was a taxi driver and when one of his customers asked to be taken to a whore house, he would bring him home for his wife... I imagine you can make more if you have something else going.
  17. Driving a taxi is a high stress, low paying occupation. It's always showing up in the 10-worst-jobs list.
  18. The rich don't pay taxes, not the super rich. Not only do they not pay taxes, they've figured out ways to moved a lot of that tax money (that others have paid) into their own bank account. They do this by buying off politicians who pass laws that funnel tax money into the companies owned by the rich.
  19. What wrong with 'CUSTOMERS WHO FIND OUR WAITRESSES RUDE, OUGHT TO SEE THE MANAGER"? It looks OK to me other than maybe a comma is needed after 'CUSTOMERS'. English is not an easy language. I have problems with it often (it was my weakest subject when I was in school): take my last post, for example, which said: 'It seems that Americans are a lot LESS happier in LOS than in Domican Republic. It should have been written like this, 'It seems that Americans are happier in Domican Republic than in LOS." For me, it's a never ending struggle to get it right.
  20. When comparing 2 mongering destinations using https://travel.state...ics/deaths.html for 2014 -- it is interesting to find that in Dominican Republic, about 10% were due to suicides but in Thailand that number is about 3 times higher. It seems that Americans are a lot LESS happier in LOS than in Domican Republic.
  21. I use a couple of cheap smart phones for emails, phone calls, games, web browsing, etc. I can't bring myself to spend hundreds of $ when I can get the job done using my $20 ZTE or LG using Android 4.1 OS. A few months ago, I was getting a foot massage for 100 Baht in Pattaya and saw the massage girl take out a $500 Iphone from her purse -- it didn't surprise me (but she may have been massaging more than feet to be able to afford it).
  22. I'm supposed to be in LOS late Mar - early Apr during US spring break. It will be cooler at night so my battle plan to fight the heat is to keep US east coast time while in LOS. That is, wake up around 6 PM and go to bed around 10 AM, a 12 hr off set of my US schedule, which would also maintain my biological clock when I return to US.
  23. In sign of apocalypse, Donald Trump defends the size of his … hands https://www.yahoo.com/politics/in-sign-of-apocalypse-donald-trump-defends-the-025053649.html Bret Baier asked Marco Rubio about the contradictory nature of personal attacks he made on Trump recently, including an implication that the businessman peed his pants backstage at the last debate and mocking Trump for having what Rubio described as abnormally short fingers. It was a fair question, one that the Florida senator immediately dodged by saying that he’d prefer to debate policies and experience. Then it was Donald Trump’s turn to answer. “I have to say this: He hit my hands,†Trump said. “Nobody has ever hit my hands. I’ve never heard of this one.†(Spymagazine famously referred to Trump as a “short-fingered vulgarian†throughout the 1990s.) “Look at those hands,†Trump said, holding his fingers up for everyone to see. “Are they small hands? And he referred to my hands: ‘If they’re small, something else must be small.’ I guarantee you there’s no problem. I guarantee.â€
  24. Mitt Romney: Trump 'A con man, a fake'
  25. Rubio was saying that Donald Trump has small hands -- that of a man 5' 2". My wife said that if you have small hands, it means you also have small penis.
