Yeah ....even the prize is a scam. Some voucher for free time at one of their places....but I believe I had to give them some money to get that (administration fee).
This is a lousy, expensive and restrictive way to own property, all of 1/52nd of it! I sometimes go to these things just to take the piss out of these con men (and women). Remember they sell you 1 week share of an apartment. I always get a laugh out of multiplying all the charges by 52. So if they say the timeshare is $5000, I say WOW, you are selling them for $260,000. The 'maintenance' charge is $200/ year, wow....$10,000 / year on maintenance.
One of the first questions I was asked was whether I had a credit card, I was instantly on the defensive. I hope somebody who has purchased on of these 'timeshares' can post and educate us.
