  1. Gimme some good lovin'. "Two months after former Fox & Friends co-host Gretchen Carlson accused Fox News' then-Chairman Roger Ailes of sexual harassment, the network has agreed to pay Carlson $20 million and make a "highly unusual public apology," NPR's David Folkenflik reports" LINk

  3. Most Nuns don't have to wear that garb anymore. But even if some do. Have you ever seen a nun at the beach in full garb?
  4. "On Tuesday, French police officers apparently made a woman take off some of her clothing on a beach in Nice, one of 15 towns that have now banned the burkini swimsuit worn by some Muslim women. There are photographs to prove it (on the Guardian), showing at least four armed men standing over the woman while she removes an aqua-blue shawl. They're on the same rocky beach where 85 people were killed on Bastille Day." Interesting perspective on the subject of going to the beach.
  5. “Typically, Republicans do well among military households, and past presidential elections have shown the Republican candidate winning veterans by double digits. Mitt Romney won the veterans vote by 20 points in 2012, according to a American National Election Studies post-election survey. John McCain carried vets by 10 points in 2008, and George W. Bush won veterans by 16 points in 2004 according to network exit polls.†LINK
  6. “On a radio show this week, Dr. Drew Pinsky of Celebrity Rehab fame added his name to the long list of conspiracy theorists who believe that Hillary Clinton’s health could be failing—a list that so far includes the National Enquirer, Fox News host Sean Hannity, InfoWars writer Paul Joseph Watson, Tucson-based nonprofit leader Dr. Jane Orient, Donald Trump, and seemingly anyone on the “alt-right†with a Twitter account. If that’s not a dream team of medical experts, what is?†Source: The Daily Beast
  7. Here is my conclusion. It's not Clinton or Trump. It is Democrat or Republican. I have a respected neighbor. He hates Hillary. Has all sorts of gossip and such about how bad she is. But this has been going on for decades. Started with Jimmy Carter. Oh, how bad Carter is. Then Mondale, then Dukakis, etc. Then President Bill Clinton. The world as we know it will collapse if this person is elected. Bill Clinton will destroy our way of life. Then President Obama. Oh, my God how bad can one person be. The world as we know it will collapse. And on and on. How bad can one person be. Now Hilary Clinton. My neighbor told me early on that Benghazi would be absolutely nail Clinton. After 7 Congressional Committees there is no nail. Just wasted time. If there was proof one of these 7 Congressional Committees would have nailed her to the cross. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Just hot air. How bad can one person be. My conclusion now. It is not the person. These people just hate Democrats. Fine. But then some have to personalize their hatred. With made up crap and conspiracy theories.
  8. The horror of hypocrisy ! The Donald illusionary pablum that he will be the champion of bringing manufacturing jobs back to the US is a complete hoax. He doesn't even do it himself. There are multiple clothing manufacturers right in New York City. Where he lives. All he had to do was look out the window of his pent house mansion/apartment. “When asked why he doesn’t lead by example and have more of his products from the Donald J. Trump Collection made in the U.S., Trump wrongly responded, “They don’t even make this stuff here.†They do. When the interviewer cited Brooks Brothers as one example of a company that makes apparel in the U.S., Trump said, “They don’t make here, not that I see.†He’s wrong about that, too. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were 133,700 people employed in making apparel in the U.S. in April 2016.†Source: FactCheck.org

  12. The gubment is going to go broke with all of these pension payments. “Wars last weeks, months or years. Their consequences, however, can last much longer than that. Similarly, war pensions given to veterans sometimes continue being paid for decades — and, occasionally, even longer than that. Irene Triplett, a woman from North Carolina, is one such example. She's the last living recipient of a Civil War pension . . .†LINK

  14. “It’s become a perennial news story: A politician uses a hit song on the campaign trail, and the artist makes headlines by voicing his or her disapproval. Most recently, Queen stirred up the conversation on the first night of the Republican National Convention, calling Donald Trump’s use of their song "We Are the Champions" unauthorized. Usher, Michael Bolton, and John Mellencamp promptly appeared on Last Week Tonight With John Oliver to perform a musical plea for politicians to stop using their songs.†LINK Freddie is turning over in his grave!
  15. An old one: A girl asks her boyfriend to come over Friday night to meet and have dinner with her parents. Since this is such a big event, the girl announces to her boyfriend that after dinner, she would like to go out and make love for the first time. The boy is ecstatic but he has never had sex before, so he takes a trip to the pharmacist to get some condoms. He tells the pharmacist it's his first time and the pharmacist helps the boy for about an hour. He tells the boy everything there is to know about condoms and sex. At the register, the pharmacist asks the boy how many condoms he'd like to buy, a 3-pack, 10-pack or family pack. The boy insists on the family pack because he thinks he will be rather busy, it being his first time and all. That night, the boy shows up at the girl's parents house and meets his girlfriend at the door. "Oh, I'm so excited for you to meet my parents, come on in!" The boy goes inside and is taken to the dinner table where the girl's parents are seated. The boy quickly offers to say grace and bows his head. A minute passes and the boy is still deep in prayer, with his head down. 10 minutes pass, and still no movement from the boy. Finally, after 20 minutes with his head down, the girl friend leans over and whispers to the boyfriend, "I had no idea you were this religious." The boy turns and whispers back, "I had no idea your father was THE pharmacist."
  16. OK. Nate has not been 100% perfect in predictions. He has had to adjust his methodology because of Trump. NATE SILVER: Clinton would have a staggering 93% chance of winning the election if it were held today Renowned statistician Nate Silver gave Hillary Clinton a nearly 93% chance of winning the general election if it were held Friday, less than two weeks after the same projection showed Donald Trump with a roughly 55% chance of taking the presidency if ballots were cast in late July.

  22. Side note. Had a Tea Party mate. Got all caught up with end of the dollar (US). Mix in Mayan calendar (2012). Throw in some Glenn Beck. Got a mortgage on his homestead. Purchased silver (gold too much for him). Silver coins. Varied between US $37.00 to $45.00. Purchased about $40,000 worth of coins. Also some hand guns. Rifles. Dried grains. Can/cases of canned tuna. He laughed at all that advised him that he was going overboard. He knew, the end was coming shortly. And with the silver coins he could buy/barter. As the end was coming shortly, silver would never go down . . . but only up. Fast forward silver has rebounded some from low of US $17.00 oz. But still, he is out quite a bit. Today about US $20.00 oz. Oh, but do post when gold hits bottom . . . I'll buy some (but only at bottom).
