I'm confused. The Thai consulate website has this stipulation for an OA visa... Bank statement or evidence of adequate finance showing a deposit of the amount equal to and not less than 800,000 Baht or an income certificate (an original copy) with a monthly income of not less than 65,000 Baht, or a deposit account plus a monthly income totaling not less than 800,000 Baht In the case of submitting a bank statement, a letter of guarantee from the bank (an original copy) is required 800k plus 60K/B monthly? Would a Bangkok Bank account with 800K (for 3 months plus) suffice? They also say a deposit account plus monthly income of 800K. Surely that's just an error that didn't translate properly? Confusing for me.

The Thai consulate web page states that one must provide copies of air ticket and bank statements when applying for a tourist visa. I'm not wild about sharing personal finance info with anyone, let alone dodgy govt. officials. So I'm thinking I should open a savings or checking account with a minimal balance. Does anyone know the minimum amount one could have in an account that would be acceptable?
