  1. For what purpose? The state lawmakers go through the process to allow illegals a privilege that they are not entitled to as they should not be in the USA to begin with. Am I missing something? This is like allowing a burglar to enjoy a sandwich in the house he broke into just because he's already there. And then when he walks out of the house, which is surrounded by police, he is allowed to go on his way.
  2. Somebody please explain to me how this makes any sense whatsoever. I thought the USA had a border problem? I thought the USA wanted to keep illegals out? I mean, they have people giving their lives trying to do that. Please, someone with more brain power than me, explain how this makes any sense. Illinois Passes Drivers Licenses for Illegal Immigrants by Warner Todd Huston 9 Jan 2013 240 post a comment After a vote on January 8, Illinois is set to join only two other states, New Mexico and Washington, to allow illegal immigrants to apply for state drivers licenses. A third state, Utah, allows illegals to drive on temporary permits. The 65-46 vote where 11 Republicans, some in leadership positions, joined Democrats to extend legal licenses came after a long, heated debate (SB 957). Conservative activist William J. Kelly criticized the law. "This kind of legislation has spurred a serious fraud problem in New Mexico and other states where it has been enacted," Kelly wrote in the State Journal-Register. "Papers have been forged, auto repair shops have been regularly listed as places of residence, and more illegal driver’s licenses schemes have caused headaches for law enforcement as foreigners from other countries come to the state to fraudulently receive a U.S. driver’s license." Indeed, New Mexico's Governor has been fighting to repeal her state's licenses for illegals law. Safety concerns were foremost in mind of detractors of this bill. One of the biggest concerns was that fingerprinting is not included in the law. Supporters claimed that the bill would show Illinois to be a "welcoming" place for law-abiding illegal immigrants that just want to work and make a living. "Our entire state would benefit from Senate Bill 957. If only half the 250,000 get [temporary licenses] and get insured, Illinois insurance policy holders would save $46 million per year," said Rep. Edward Acevedo (D-Chicago) on January 7. "Police officers would be able to know who they're stopping." But at least one Illinois police chief disagreed with Rep. Acevedo. During the debate on the bill Hanover Park Police Chief David Webb told the House Transportation Vehicles & Safety Committee that there just weren't enough safety measures in the bill. "Without these basic public safety and homeland security safeguards, this bill is unsafe," Chief Webb said. Despite Rep. Acevedo's claim that more drivers will become insured with his law, the bill does not require proof of insurance before an illegal immigrant can get his license. Supporters say that such a requirement is unnecessary as the law already states that drivers have to be insured to drive in the Land of Lincoln. Further a provision in the law maintains that a police officer can confiscate the license if the illegal immigrant cannot produce proof of insurance on demand. Detractors also point out that number of insured drivers did not materially increase in Washington or Arizona after those states passed their drivers licenses for illegals bills. Some illegal immigrant activists said that the bill may not make much difference because lawbreaking illegals won't likely trust subjecting themselves to the government to sign up for the new privileges. "It's asking immigrants to hand over all their information to the state and I just think there's going to be a real reluctance there if the people are not legal citizens in the country," said Cristobal Cavazos, Immigrant Solidarity DuPage. Applicants must be able to show residency in the state for a year before being afforded the three-year license which will called a Temporary Visitor Driver’s License. Illinois Governor Pat Quinn said he will sign the bill. http://www.breitbart...egal-Immigrants

  5. It's official: Deal reached on "fiscal cliff" Updated at 2:44 a.m. Eastern The ball in Times Square has dropped, 2013 is here and, technically, so is the "fiscal cliff", as Congress has yet to officially pass a plan to avert the scheduled spending cuts and tax hikes. But before panic sets in, although lawmakers failed to meet the midnight deadline, a deal is in place and the first step to making it official -- Senate passage -- is in the books. The Senate voted 89-8 in favor of the bill in the wee hours of New Year's Day, sending the deal along to the House, which must pass the measure in order for the "cliff" to be averted. The House is expected to vote on the deal as early as today, but given tepid signals from House Republican leaders, the vote there will be an interesting one to watch. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-250_162-57561465/its-official-deal-reached-on-fiscal-cliff/
  6. I think we'd better ban gasoline. http://www.kbtx.com/home/headlines/Explosion-in-Dallas--184728721.html
  7. Obviously there is a problem and that is an understatement but as I mentioned and was ridiculed for, more guns are being called for to solve the problem. Crazy? Probably. But it is what it is. Also, the above posters' numbers are not factual from 2 sources I located. One said there were 100 gun deaths, one said 98 in the week after the school shooting. http://www.huffingto..._n_2348466.html http://now.msn.com/g...k-since-newtown
  8. Absolutely crazy thinking. Good guys with guns???? That'll never work.
  9. Looks like I'm the idiot. Again, not that I agree with this thinking but it seems to be the way Americans think........ Armored backpacks and a rush on guns after Conn. SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The reaction to the deadly Connecticut school shooting can be seen at gun stores and self-defense retailers across the nation, with anxious parents buying armored backpacks for children and firearms enthusiasts stocking up on assault weapons in anticipation of tighter gun control measures. A spike in gun sales is common after a mass shooting, but the latest rampage has generated record sales in some states, particularly of rifles similar to the AR-15 the gunman used in an attack Friday on Sandy Hook Elementary School that killed 26 people, including 20 children. http://news.yahoo.co...-182739177.html
  10. What would happen (in the USA) if guns were made illegal? Only the police could possess them legally.
  11. How is that? And remember, part of zero ownership is getting rid of the already flooded market. How?
  12. I'm all for it. How do you do it so that not a soul will have guns here? Nothing would be better than a tragedy like this never happening again.
  13. Huh?? Is that sarcasm that went way over my head?? http://www.nyc.gov/html/nypd/html/permits/handgun_licensing_information.shtml#license_types
  14. Your examples, other than the movie theater shooting and military shooting, were workplace and school killings. Concealed weapons by citizens will not be allowed on those properties. Again, only the bad guy is able to to that. Making my point for me, thank you. The movie example you gave, if you would have read all the way to the bottom, showed that backround checks to buy a gun, increased by 43% the very next week. Gun sales also increased that week in Washington, Florida, California, and Georgia. The military base shooting....did you read it?? Clearly, where he began his assault, the soldiers were unarmed. 2 soldiers "charged" and were quickly dispatched. Another soldier threw a table at him and was shot. Finally, outside, people also had weapons and the shooter himself was eventually shot mulitple times. Again, I am not a gun nut, don't even own one, but it's common sense to me that if I were gonna go blow people away, I would NOT go where people had guns too. And taking them away, legally, will only allow the criminals to have them and then these types of things will only increase.
  15. You obviously have no concept of what I have said. http://www.cbsnews.c...-cut-shootings/ "I have never understood the flaw in the argument that when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. And, of course, there are already laws against murder.
  16. You'd then have to get rid of pillows, baseball bats, all water or any liquid you could drown in, cars, bows and arrows, stairs, high buildings, etc.......
  17. If you don't understand why I said what I said, I feel sorry for any kids you have cuz their dad is a fucking ignoramous.
  18. Can't take the guns away cuz then only the bad guys would get them. I don't take much of a stand on gun control but if the good guys had guns too, then the bad guys may think twice about blowing away 18 grade school children. He may get one or two but if we were allowed to have guns too, he wouldn't be shooting 27 people dead before he was dead. That is an indisputable fact.
  19. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-connecticut-school-shooting-20121214,0,4678476.story This is a very fluid story with the numbers changing periodically. A shooting at a Connecticut elementary school today left 26 people dead, including children and adults, according to reports. Twenty-six people were killed, including 18 children, the Associated Press reported, citing an official. The gunman was also dead. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation was still under way. At a brief news conference this afternoon, a Connecticut State Police official said the gunman at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown was killed. "The shooter is deceased inside the building," said police Lt. Paul Vance. A source told the Associated Press that the suspect is 24 years old and that his younger brother is being held. Many of the shootings took place in a kindergarten classroom, sources told the Hartford Courant. One entire classroom is unaccounted for, sources said. WCBS-TV and the New York Times report that the shooter's mother was a teacher at the school and that many of the victims were apparently her students Vance said students and staff were killed, but he did not provide a death toll. He said further information would be released at a later news conference. The shooting appeared to be the nation's second-deadliest school shooting, exceeded only by the Virginia Tech massacre in 2007. There were unconfirmed reports of a second shooter after witnesses reported hearing dozens of shots fired. Sandy Hook Elementary School teaches children from kindergarten through fourth grade, roughly ages 5 to 10. “It was horrendous,†said parent Brenda Lebinski, who rushed to the school where her daughter is in the third grade. “Everyone was in hysterics - parents, students. There were kids coming out of the school bloodied. I don't know if they were shot, but they were bloodied.†Television images showed police and ambulances at the scene, and parents rushing toward the school. Parents were seen reuniting with their children and taking them home. “This is going to be bad,†a state official told Reuters, requesting anonymity because the scope of the tragedy remained uncertain. The shooter, an adult, was dead and two handguns were recovered from the scene, NBC News reported without citing a source. Lebinski said a mother who was at the school during the shooting told her a “masked man†entered the principal's office and may have shot the principal. Lebinski, who is friends with the mother who was at the school, said the principal was “severely injured.†Lebinski's daughter's teacher “immediately locked the door to the classroom and put all the kids in the corner of the room.†Stephen Delgiadice said his 8-year-old daughter heard two big bangs and teachers told her to get in a corner. His daughter was fine. “It's alarming, especially in Newtown, Connecticut, which we always thought was the safest place in America,†he said. The superintendent's office said the district had locked down schools in Newtown, about 60 miles northeast of New York City. Schools in neighboring towns also were locked down as a precaution. State police said Newtown police called them around 9:40 a.m. A SWAT team was among the throngs of police to respond. Mergim Bajraliu, 17, heard the gunshots echo from his home and raced to check on his 9-year-old sister at the school. He said his sister, who was fine, heard a scream come over the intercom at one point. He said teachers were shaking and crying as they came out of the building. “Everyone was just traumatized,†he said. A girl interviewed by NBC Connecticut described hearing seven loud “booms†as she was in gym class. Other children began crying and teachers moved the students to a nearby office, she said. “A police officer came in and told us to run outside and so we did,†the unidentified girl said on camera. Connecticut State Police said its officers were at the scene with local police but provided no additional details. The emergency call to police occurred at 9:41 a.m., state police said. Newtown, with a population about 27,000, is in northern Fairfield County, about 45 miles southwest of Hartford and 80 miles northeast of New York City. Sandy Hook is one of four elementary schools in the district.
  20. Boy o boy......the world's gone to shit when you can't even carve a demonic symbol into your own kids anymore. I'm moving.

  24. For American Football followers....pretty big former star is gone. NFL legend Junior Seau found dead at his California home TMZ first reported that retired NFL star Junior Seau was found dead Wednesday morning, and that the police were investigating after his housekeeper found the NFL legend with a fatal shotgun wound to the chest. He was 43 years old. The report has been confirmed by the North County Times: Pro football great and Oceanside sports legend Junior Seau has apparently committed suicide, found by a housekeeper with a gunshot wound to the chest, according to multiple sources. Oceanside Mayor Jim Wood said he learned of the death from police Chief Frank McCoy. Police responded to Seau's home on The Strand on Wednesday after receiving a call about a reported suicide. The San Diego County medical examiner's office said an investigator was sent to the scene. If Seau committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest, it is similar to the way former Chicago Bears great Dave Duerson ended his life. Duerson shot himself in the chest on February 17 -- the method used so that his brain could be examined for symptoms of CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy), a trauma-induced disease common to NFL players and others who have received repeated blows to the head. Seau, a 12-time Pro Bowler and 6-time First-Team All-Pro, was selected fifth overall in the 1990 NFL draft after an outstanding collegiate career at USC. He played with the San Diego Chargers through the 2002 season, spent 2003-2005 with the Miami Dolphins, and then signed with the New England Patriots in time for the 2006 season. In New England's perfect regular season of 2007, he played in all 16 games and started four. Seau first retires after that season, only to come back and play in 2008 and 2009 before finally leaving the NFL for good. "I'm going to go surf," he told Showtime upon his January, 2010 retirement announcement. Whatever happens, I can honestly say, that that probably was my last game." Seau is the eighth member of the Chargers 1994 Super Bowl team to pass. We will keep you updated on this story as more news is confirmed.
