  1. http://youtu.be/UZSH0RizajE I remember reading a couple of years ago in the Thai news that karaoke bars around Chiang Mai were pulling a scam whereby Thai customers were forced to pay extortionate amounts after a couple of hours time on the premises with threats of violence for non-compliance. This farang (French?) got caught with the same scam recently there. 47,000 Baht for 4 hours! He says he just sat with the girls and had drinks and nothing 'special' occurred with the girls ie no 'extras'. Some of the girls seem to have accompanied him to the police station to be sure to get their money.
  2. When our grannies created fantasies in our little girl heads that one day we'd win pageants and be handed ridiculously large checks on stage, they might have forgotten one detail. In the real world, the check might never arrive. The six winners of the “Miss Thai Lovely†pageant, who were handed such checks earlier this year, said they never got the money and filed a complaint yesterday at Lumpini police station. The third place winner, Anyada Rachatarom, told police they competed in the contest and were announced winners in March. The six winners said they were promised rewards ranging from THB100,000 to THB1 million, but so far the organizer has only paid them THB20,000 each. Anyada said she’s negotiated with the company who sponsored the event but was told they weren’t ready to pay. Anyada added the girls just want the reward they were promised and don't want the foreign organizer to dupe other Thai girls into an exploitative bikini show or use their photos to promote another misleading pageant contest, Daily News reported. We did the research and assume Anyada was referring to this creepy swimsuit show seen below, which looks more like some horny farang’s private pool party than a professional pageant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_nm6eUf8Zk http://bangkok.cocon...ling-pay-reward (07/05/14) http://www.dailynews...บี้ยวเงินรางวัล
