Guest Posted April 30, 2003 Report Share Posted April 30, 2003 Artie, I am not really sure, but I would expect that there is a cabal of generals who run most things and delegate power to regional commanders whom they trust. During the New Order era, Suharto kept effective control by divide and rule tactics, ensuring no single officer could amass enough power to mount a similar challenge.
