itsmedave Posted June 19, 2003 Report Share Posted June 19, 2003 Just saw this movie yesterday, and, for a Thai film, it's actually very good. The story is fairly original, and the first half was actually very funny. It revolves around this very innocent, choirboy type who wants to marry the daughter of, ahem...an INFLUENTIAL person. This influential person likes to kill people at the drop of a hat and is annoyed that his future son-in-law is such a pussy. So he makes an arrangment with the boy. Take a seven day trip from Bangkok to Chiang Rai and pick a fight with everybody you see. If you survive and prove that you're strong enough to protect my daughter...she's yours. So this extremely polite and shy boy goes out and is fabulously unsuccessful at getting into fights until he meets this cute adventurous chick who picks his fights for him. Usually ending in disaster. Some cute and funny moments throughout the first hour, but then they go all Thai and start throwing in lots of mean spirited violence and unnecessary explosions and it goes downhill from there.
