adikgede
Addendum: The WiFi service in Don Mueang appears to be operational now, although I haven't tried it. The operator is Far East Internet The fee is payable in advance by purchasing a card in 60, 120 and 180 minute credits valid for three months or by paying online with a CC. I'll fill in the detail later as I have just got in off a long flight.

adikgede
WiFi/Broadband Connectivity The following is a collection of information about wireless and broadband connectivity in Thailand and other countries in South East Asia. The information is compiled from a number of sources, listed below, and is by no means authoratative, comprehensive or up to date. The emphasis is on connectivity for a traveler who needs to access the internet from their own computer. With that in mind any reference to ISPs and internet cafes is incidental. In six months to a year this document will probably be superseded by a list of hotels that offer broadband access in rooms, as WiFi hotspots should be as ubiquitous in cafes and airports as internet cafes are today. Note that WiFi in hotels usually means in a public area not in rooms. Although many places that have broadband access can provide you with an ethernet cable thats not always the case. Sometimes they will rent you a cable for a fee that far exceeds the value of the cable, bring your own. Thailand Airport: Bangkok: There is a wireless network at the airport. coverage is pretty good I saw about about 50 antenna on the network I was on. However at this time (30.05.03) the service is not operational (You can get an IP but you cannot go anywhere) Prepaid vouchers will be available from stores in the airportnet that display the WLanNet logo. BritTim
For Thailand, if you do not have free access in your hotel/apartment (it still seems rare) and you are at all price conscious, note that the going local rate is 15-20 baht per hour dialup and 30-45 baht per hour ADSL. Ask a local student the best place to go for these prices in whatever area you happen to be.

adikgede
There were three wireless networks last time I was at the airport in Bangkok (01/03/04). You can buy prepaid cupons for the WLan Net throughout the departure lounge or use IPass if you subscribe to an ISP that uses ISP for roaming. If anyone has details about the other two networks that would be helpfull www.wifinder.com www.ipass.com
Straycat
Good news for Thailand is that AIS 1-2-Call now comes with GPRS. This is quite handy. Right at this moment I surf the Internet at a reasonable speed in the deepest of the Isaan plains, which is something that was impossible just a few months ago!
