Brink15
For the expats living in the LOS and the travelers who make it there: Does business bring you to the LOS? Yes, I'm an expat working for a foreign firm in Thailand. Yes, I've found a gig in the LOS. Yes, I'm getting by teaching English to support my LOS life. Yes, I travel on my company's dime as they have offices in Thailand. Yes, I'm traveling on my company's dime as they have customers in Thailand. Yes, my company sends me to nearby Asian countries and I tack on Thailand without their knowledge. Yes, I work in an industry that offers free travel to employees. No, I just make so damn much money I travel were I please. No, I scrape by and save for my next trip out of my own hard labor. No, I've never been and can't afford to go but live through the stories you guys tell. No, I'm too afraid. I just like to pretend I'm a world traveler. jp1
Most of my trips to LOS are on company expenses. I always try to extend the trip for another 2 or 3 days (not on comp. expenses). Always worked out fine. I'm happy with this solution.
Old Hippie
Funny, last year at my Thai school, an older guy appeared with a worried look on his face. Seems he (54+, widowed so he still had it all!) was possibly being transfered to BKK for a 3 year assignment. It was one of those "name your price" deals the rest of us only dream of. This was his last big assignment before retirement, and he was terrified about going. Wonder how the old guy made out...?

pattaya127
Funny, so far, the poll seems to indicate, if ever so slightly, that no matter how much money you (don't) make, once you've been there, you go back again! Yoopeee!
