Learning to Read/Write - A Step Further?

I've just been reading the word lists a few times, and repeat the linguaphone excercises. I suppose it will come with time.

I remember when I was in junior school we used to be given a number of words to learn every week. This is a good idea and I think I will aim to learn about 30 new words a week, which should mean I make good progress.

What I have also found useful is a bbc thai phrasebook which I bought today. Its more meaningful to me now than if I hadnt started the ling. course. It sums up phrases and grammer in lamens terms (which is good for me) that the ling course doesnt do. :D Its also fits nicely in my pocket.

One of the main problems I found was trying to build a vocabulary in a systematic way. To this end I have found a liitle book which has proved invaluable. I bought it in Asia Books for 150baht I is called 'The Main of Thai Vocabulary'

I have memorised all the words in every category, about 1000 words in all.
