Brink15 Posted May 22, 2001 Report Share Posted May 22, 2001 Karon Cafe used to be quite OK. It depends on how much money you want to spend and when you are going, high vs. low season. Stay away from the Sands resort on the North end of the beach it sucks. There are some good sites on Phuket lodging that go by beach area. Try the Phuket Gazette (the local English language newspaper) website. Guest Posted May 22, 2001 Report Share Posted May 22, 2001 Royal Karon Beach Hotel is nice, but a "family" type with a lot of tours. Can't remember the name "stayed there three times", there is a small but nice hotel with good suites and nice rooms at the end of Karon beach on the way to Kata Beach, the second place up the hill on the right. They have a restaurant on the right side of the hotel indoors. Nice pool, wonderful staff, no hassles. I think the name was Karon Beach Resort.
