Then I went back a decade or so later and was frightened to cross the street on account of the traffic. Had to then take CM off my list of places to put up for a few days. And the bloke who mentioned the Ayutthaya ladies (Khun Saudum) was also quite correct. As an old Siam Society member I most certainly recall that Thailand even in the 17th. century was well known for its comely lassies. I guess that I am somewhat shocked at the scale of tourism these days, including the large number of farangs who seem more interested in bar girls than anything else that the Kingdom has to offer. Thus I support the Thai Rak Thai Party in its attempt to simmer things down and hopefully also discourage farang crimminal elements of the type that hang around Pattaya. [/color] Oh yes, that nasty farang criminal elements. Their the ones doing the snatch and grab motobike thefts. No wait, those are Thais. The farangs must be doing the gang riots at concerts. No wait, those are Thais. The farang criminal elements must be doing the shootings and killings. No wait, those are Thais also. The farang criminal elements are the ones diving off hotels. Don't want to hijack this thread but one night while in Kings Castle II in Patpong I was sitting next to a young Vietnamese couple who were in LOS on Holiday from Vietnam. Anyway the dude could speak english fairly well, his Viet Girlfriend was a fox and THEN some - really beautiful. Anyway the Viet guy was telling me I should goto Vietnam because the girls (and the clubs) were MORE fun than Thailand he told me. He said they even had GoGos but you have to know someone to get in. Did sound interesting and hopefully they'll be some posts someday under "Regional Sanuk" on how sanuk is in Vietnam, last I heard was that the girls really are beautiful however it was generally a lot more expensive than LOS.
