POLL FOR QUIET MEMBERS

Recommended Posts

This poll is to find out if there is any reason why some members have either stopped posting, or hesitate to post. Feel free to comment after (means you have to post, brrr....), our regular posters too. KS has allowed me to put this poll in, in the spirit of improving the board where possible.

(i tried to anticipate the upside down loading of the poll, but this time it reproduced them as typed :banghead:. Oh, well...)

I think that it has got to do with marketing.

The questions in the poll suggests that this board has gone stale.

No Way. Everyone should read ALL the different form topics, ie: nightlife, suggestions, relationships...etc.

Over all, all it takes is for a few leaders to get the ball rolling again. Humm, can I take that as sign of old age?

So maybe the crackdown is working.

Maybe some porn would inject some life...but just who are the demographics using this board anyhow? Has anyone or would someone do a poll on the age bracket of the lurkers and the posters.

Or are we all just afraid that we are getting "to old" for this kind of stuff...

Demographics would be interesting. It would tell us who this form is reaching.

Ssd.

Hi,

"Demographics would be interesting."

Fully agree, and I have for a while been considering putting up a questionaire asking about these things (anonomously if desired of course), but have yet to find the right software or the time to write it myself.

Sanuk!

I frequent the board quite often. Sometimes I just like to read whats going on. It brings back good memories to hear about certain bars, people and places.

When I have more free time, I tend to post more (like I have this week). I suspect that my posts will increase dramatically before my next trip, which unfortunately probably wont happen until late this year :(

I voted for the 5th one down. I do not live in Thailand but I feel I have been there more than most and when I make a post, I feel it may not carry as much weight as someone with 1k or 2k post who has not been there nearly the times I have. So I feel posting with my amount would be not taken seriously. I debated my vote between the one I voted for and the 3rd one down. Anyway, my point is the larger the posts is not necessarily larger knowledge. In general, I think the board is very good, not many fights, decent answers to intelligent questions. I would like to see more trip reports and I am as guilty as the rest of them. Good poll!

I voted other.

For me it is relatively time consuming to compose responses to the discussions, I enjoy reading and try to check the board most days.

I don't have enough detailed knowledge to fully participate in the more serious discussions and I tend to reach them once the key areas have been debated.

I enjoy Flys insights into the dark side of Thai life, Chocolate Steves footie reports, legal discussions on land ownership and tales of nightlife exploits.

Cannot say i've ever felt intimidated and frankly enjoy a bit of anal banter between posters, it seems to me there are quite a mix of personalties here!
