Maybe so but yor post gave the impression that as prostitution is illegal it woldn't make any difference if you go with underage prostitutes. This could be dangerously misleading to newbies.

 

TAT used to have a home page somwhere that spelled out the changes to the law in detail. I have lost the URL but a Google search might find it.

In April 1996, the government of Thailand passed stringent anti-prostitution laws with the most severe penalties reserved for those involved in child prostitution. Now customers, procurers, brothel owners, those who force children into prostitution and even parents, face long prison sentences as well as large fines. The penalties under Thailand's new Prostitution Prevention and Suppression Bill are as follows:

1. Customers 2-6 years jail if prostitutes are under 15

0-3 years jail if prostitutes are between 15 and 18

 

2. Procurers 1-10 years jail if prostitutes are over 18

5-15 years jail if prostitutes are between 15 and 18

10-20 years jail if prostitutes are under 15

 

3. Venue Ownersr 0-15 years jail if prostitutes are over 18

5-15 years jail if prostitutes are between 15 and 18

10-20 years jail if prostitutes are under 15

 

4. Parents 4-20 years jail if prostitutes are under 18

A TG once told me they count there years from conception eg. 9 months younger than the west. So a 16 yr old is in fact 15 and 3 months...not sure how true it is? I've heard of this in indonesia too...
