I got a taxi from Nana hotel to Pattaya, cost 1500 Baht + 100 toll charges. I had booked the Penthouse hotel on Soi Pattayaland 2 over the Internet. Like Nana in Bangkok, it seemed a sensible choice for a newbie as it was in the heart of the action. After Nana, it was a relief to be shown to a nice clean room with no foul odours anywhere. For those into convenience shopping, there?s a pussy store downstairs. It?s called Cats Agogo and is owned by the hotel. There are cards all over the hotel room advertising Cats and saying ?happiness is a tite pussy?. In fact the whole place has the feeling of a brothel. I counted 14 different bulbs in my room but even with all of the lights switched on, the room was still darker than a Patpong BJ bar. It was only on my last morning there that I found the controls for the air conditioning hidden in a dark corner. There are also mirrors everywhere including the ceiling. Despite this, if you need to look at your ugly mug you will have to go into the bathroom as it is the only place where there is sufficient light. The next day I went for a walk up the beach and I discovered that you will be targeted constantly in Pattaya if you don?t have a girl with you. Best Agogo: The Dollhouse in Pattaya. I was in here 4 nights in a row and loved it. A lot of the girls

here actually danced while on stage which was a pleasant change from most bars where the girls just sway and look miserable. But the best thing about the Dollhouse is the waitresses who really enjoy themselves dancing around the floor. Good dance music too.

Worst Agogo: Hollywood strip in Nanaplaza. I?ve read good reports about this place. It was the

busiest bar I visited in Thailand. I was in there at 12.30 on a Friday night and they seemed to specialise in fat and ugly girls. Maybe all the good ones were barfined by then. They also had a barfine menu on the table with ?for a special rate to buy a girl out of the bar completely ? speak to the management?. So the girls aren?t free to leave if they want to? Sounds like slavery or do the girls have a contract?

If you like being the centre of attention then I can recommend June as a good time to visit despite the heat and humidity. Most of the bars in Pattaya had only a few customers and in some I was the only customer. In fact, in a few, I was greeted with such enthusiasm that I must have been their first customer in days. I expect it will be rather different when I return in December.

Great report for a newbie! You got the hang of it. Yes it might take some trials before finding the right one. I am glad you found both in Bangkok and Pattaya. I have same experience, the good ones are difficult to find, one go got them, it's hard to get away from them.
