Was always worried about contracting herpes, clamidia etc.. Prabably will be going again in December 2001, have not been able to get my mind off of all those gorgeous Thai women. Still worried about STDs. Help me out. I use condoms, however, what about the base of the penis? The unprotected areas? At this point, abstinance is very difficult. I have to go. Help me out fellas. Guest Posted October 10, 2001 Report Share Posted October 10, 2001 There is no way to be 100% safe, all sex entails some risk, especially with bargirls who obviously have multiple partners. There is a small chance of catching something despite using condoms. For me the perceived risk is small enough for it to be worth it. The alternative is to stay home. I think the fear factor diminishes over time, sometimes to the point where you need a reality check every now and then to make you realise the danger is still there. The good news is that you are unlikely to catch anything fatal as long as you use condoms, but unfortunately the risk of genital warts, herpes etc. remains. I stopped worrying a while ago, but that doesn't mean I'm not careful. Use quality condoms and lube every time, that's about as much as you can reasonably do to protect yourself and the girls. While I admit it dampens the enthusiasm a bit, I always do a visual to check for obvious active herpes or obvious warts. Not perfect, but every bit helps. They have government licensed brothels there where they do genuinely check for STD's. stumpy Posted October 31, 2001 Report Share Posted October 31, 2001 Well, it always srikes me that with the road sense of the taxis and motorbikes that the hardest and most dangerous part is actually getting to the gogo especially if you want to cross a road at some point. My advice is leave some light on, have a brief look and wear a condom. After sex I get in the bathroom first, pull the condom off, have a pee and get in the shower and wash the whole area. The wart causing virus is passwed by skin to skin contact but even if it has been passwed timely washing with soapy water stands a good chances of getting it off your skin. Also a friend of mine did get a wart. He used podophyllin on it and it was gone in days and never came back. So there is light out there...just take some common sense precautions. One of the biggest dangers (after the traffic) is alcohol. If you know in your heart of hearts you can't be trusted when in drink then lay off the booze until after you have done the deed.
