Some years ago I worked for the Scottish Prison Service teaching English to foreign prisoners. During this time all the prisoners were asked to participate in a DNA sample collecting survey.

The way the samples were taken was by scraping the inside of the mouth with a collecting "swab". One of the by-products of this survey was that those prisoners with HIV could also be identified. I asked the doctor taking the samples a similar question, he said it was unlikely that you could catch the virus this way but that he wouldn't like to risk it.

I don't think we know enough about the transmission of HIV to know for sure Broken skin or the effects of a toothy BJ could just be another way to get yourself positive.

(Only one "s" in positive, sorry English teacher in me!)

Yes, you can get HIV from unprotected oral sex. It is harder for you to get it from getting a BJ but it is a risk. Wrap that baby up!

Cheers,

Risk is Much higher for you, by giving oral to her, than by her giving oral to you, but there is NO sex act that is without risk ...

If she had small cuts/sores in her mouth (and how would you know?) and you had same on your willy ...

Conceivably her trying to burrow her tongue (with cuts/sores) up your urethra Could be a transmission route, but again less likely than you going down on her ...

Ever get a small cut in your mouth from a potato or nacho chip ? ... and her on either end of menses (or with labial/vaginal cuts sores) ...

A microscopic drop of blood into a microscopic break in your skin is all it takes ...

On the brighter side, you're FAR more likely to contract Hepatitis this way than HIV ...

Is that really a bright side ??

And we haven't even mentioned genital warts or herpes in this thread ... you don't even need broken skin to get those and you can get it at the base of your willy where the condom doesn't cover !!

It's all enough to make you forsake sanuk forever and become a monk ... NOT !

Just be careful man ...

i would like someone to direct me to some scientific evidence that a person on the receiving end of oral sex can contract hiv- i haven't seen any creditable evidence- i'm not a sceptic or i'm not doubting any exists, i'd just like to read about it from the cdc or other trustworthy organization- so far, i havern't come across it-

You're not likely to find such information. The problem is that few people restrict themselves to just receiving oral sex, thus it is extremely difficult (if not impossible) to determine whether the infection was through oral transmission or some other means.

It's a gamble. And, as tc4rob pointed out, there are several nasty (and permanent) bugs you could catch without a break in the condom OR a break in the skin.

In the end, if you partake, get yourself tested regularly.

Cheers.

The CDC considers there to be a theoretical risk of transmission of HIV from oral sex, whether you are on the giving or receiving end.

when i find a tg that gives a great bj and i plan on using her services again, i have her tested at a clinic- i realize there is a lag time between when a person can be infectious before their test turns positive, but this certainly reduces the risk considerably for bbbj - i've never had a girl turn down being tested- and if they don't want to be tested, why would you want to go with them-

A working girl who performs bbbj's is engaging in risky behavior whether because she doesn't know very much about STD's or doesn't care. A customer should be concerned about this. Having her tested for STD's before a bbbj would decrease your risk assuming you barfine her out from the time of the testing to the bbbj.

A friend of mine recently discussed with a doctor who specialises in AIDS, the risks of HIV through BBBj with a bg and he mentioned one thing I haven't really thought about.

He said that the girls who are giving bjs in places where there is a high turn over of customers, such as blowjob bars, could in fact transmit the HIV virus even though they themselves are not infected.

This could be from a previous infected customer that day and even though it is diluted by the saliva, it can still stay within the mouth for up to twelve hours.

I imagine the risk is still very low but I was quite alarmed by this.

Is anyone else aware of this?

Ed
