I try to consider the theme, composition, what is it telling me and a few other things before I give it a score. What's mentioned however is true on this board, asses will do the trick most likely! Come on, Catman, are you telling me you need more info than that???????? Sad excuse! If people are truly interested in a photo competition then I believe they won't have serious defficulties as you're mentioning to find a month's theme. Check photo contest forum - check threads - check September theme - read content - DUH - really no detective work. However, if the look quickly through it without seriously intending to join (like you I'm assuming) then it won't matter much how clear it's stated. Check photo contest forum - check threads - check September theme - read content - DUH - really no detective work. Your so lost. I hope that you'll never ever be in business to sell goods or services because you are total catastrophy. The sad thing is that you don't even know about it. Stick to diving or teaching or what ever... Since you have it all down, ponder on these facts. A. There are very few contributions in the photo contest B. There are very few page views on the images in the photo contest C. There are very few votes on said images. Meanwhile, I'll do some "detective work" to find out what you mean by "sad excuses" and not "intending to join" and it's relevance to the monthly contests ambiguity regardning theme. Regarding the themes, October - Lets debate how YOU guys want to choose that theme. Personally, I'd rather people who actually enter to vote, otherwise it sques the votes. Ideas? Moved the list of subgalleries to the bottom and have added a bit of text explaining the contests at the top. Doing much better in the view counts in the general gallery, though it's starting to look funny there, as pe7e pix have shot up to the top, though they were hardly new ones. And basically, looking like the first shot, before undressing, in a porn page. Hummm... KS, why not make a sticky every month in general discussion, or at least a thread announcing a contest? Your shot was sharp, and original, but there were a few problems with it. The framing should have been straight, not angled, the light wasn't great, gloomy with a blue-cast as a result, and this added to the fact that with 3 people in the shot, it was lacking punch. For example, you should have tried to get their attention, with luck, one would have looked up and you had a shot still with your idea, but with a connection for the viewer, thru the gaze, or maybe smile (better) thrown at the camera, therefore anyone who views the shot.
