Guest
The Hamburger 1A in LOS wouldn't surprise me, no idea of safety here. I know the adapter plugs at home carry a 1A fuse. The transformer in Shaver sockets is supposed to be an isolation transformer but here is anybodys guess. I've also seen them center tapped to earth at home which results in a max 55V shock if something goes wrong but here, as most places don't have an earth run your gonna fry. Portable RCD are a good idea, they cut off the power as soon as the current shows a differential between input and output. Brilliant invention. I tried to run my laptop off a shaver socket in Indonesia ,I was hoping for a reasonable feed, left it plugged in for 24 hrs and got nowhere.
