i´m a frequent traveller to thailand and some of the sourrounding

countys.

first trip to LOS was in ´85.

ever been to the islands at this time ?

(especially koh chang this was great)

my thai friends call me nam tok andik

(dnow cause they meet me my first time in songkran

for seweating a lot or caus i´m addicted to nam tok´s)

so if anyone knows a nice nam tok,

preffered the ones with possibillity to take a cool refreshing

swim, let me know, if possible with location on map

or discription how to get there and pictures.

maybe i can get them together on a web-site

p.s. im specially looking for one beside the highway

chinag mai - bkk, just a few meters beside the street

my favorite ones are the one in the erawan np,

nice steps in different colors

the other one is near bkk, you can rent a ?maturing hose?

and drift on the small river (anyone knows the name of this?)

an the cold one just a step behind

white sand beach at koh chang

maybe you wont find the island you remember

on chang in the last years everything has gone worse

for example in white sand beach they have build

a 3 level boutique hotel, a ferry is running to chang,

so everyone comes with his car.

the time i´d like to remember on chang was when only 3 bath busses are running, there was no concrete road

and electricity was only for night time

it was like heaven

Hi,

Hmm, yeah sounds rather different than I remember. When I was first there ('95) there was no phone, no electricity (they only had generators which provided elec. from 6pm till midnight) and none of the roads were even paved.

I stayed in a bamboohut for 50 Baht a day; weekly expenses were around 1,500 Baht :)

Don't think I could still do that :)

Hi,

"always thougt chang is part of the marine np and something like this waste of nature wont happen."

That was what I was told as well. People could only build on 15% (?) of the land and nothing above 2 stories.

Sounds like another nice island is destroyed through tourism :(
