Adventures in Facism at Nana Disco!

Recommended Posts

It was only a matter of time before Nana Disco wanted a piece of the barfine action,It'll soon match NEP's 600bht.

Can't see the owners of Nana disco allowing the same sort of set up operating in their manor and they will have the clout to do this.

I wonder whats up their sleeves to generate some revenue from the after closing car park crowd? :(

Anyone remember Disco Duck in Pattaya? Just wondering. No cover, no farang and girls galore.

You're really showing your age Chucky. However, yes, I do remember.

Ah yes, the Disco Duck, memories...

And there was this other similar place, I even forgot the name, I have a senior moment? :cussing: Maliban???

I only did ND once, they never got my money since, a lot more fun to be had in that little enclave opposite the street.

Ok, I'm going to go against the flow here and actually SUPPORT Nana Disco.

The music may not be the greatest, but I've failed to ever have anything other than a good time there...I think it helps to be half-drunk before going in though.

The prices are high, but 400b is only about £5. In my home town, the average price for entry is around £12 (and no free drink).

Maybe the increase in entry-fee is to cover the MiB's extra tea-money ? perhaps thats why there is no local competition if you get my drift.....

The Nana area is just becoming more commercialised that is all really.

I have never been much of a fan of the whole Nana area.

I believe there are much better places to go in Bangkok if you want to have a good time.

Nana is a tourist trap and has been for many years.

It would be interesting to poll expats and regular LOS travellers as to how often or how much time they spend in the Nana area. I think most would agree that much better times can be had eleswhere in Bangkok.

Disco Duck used to have some nice bands (with all girl dancers), good memories of that place. Wasn't quite as loud as say Excite where you got a 'body massage' from the speakers...

Ah yes the dancers with their little uniforms. I get quite teary eyed when I think of Disco Duck. For those who weren't around Pattaya in the 70s & 80s it was on Second Road across from Soi 7.

For me, Angel's is yet another reason for bypassing Bangkok all together and heading straight down to Pattaya.

A little bit of old fashioned competition can do wonders.

Compare Angels with the discos down in Pattaya.

I'll compare it with the discos down in Pattaya. Here's the difference as far as I'm concerned:

I CAN *SEE* THE GIRLS IN ANGELS.

Last year I went to about 3 or 4 of the most popular Pattaya places, including the ones you mentioned. What they had in common was (lack of) lighting which made it nearly impossible to see the girls!

What's up with the fucking Pattaya disco lighting? :cussing:

Good point.

For me, the poor lighting is the biggest drawback of Lucifers. But from the look of them, I suspect that a number of the girls in there see it as a drawcard.

I didn't think the lighting in Tony's was as bad. Although I have to admit that the last girl I pulled from there aged about 10 years in the short walk back to the hotel.

CW,

Regrettably the 70's and 80's were before my (LOS) time - although a good friend had been telling me to check out Thailand since '80 took me near 20 years to take him up on it. :banghead:

But I digress, the Disco Duck I went to in Pattaya was on Central Road (might still be there?), that was just a few years ago.

I still love the dancers you see in the Discos, amazing the energy they have.. :o

I though Disco Duck was at Pattaya Klang, the road where TOPS is located at the crossing. Basically the raod from Beach rad to Suk, coming from the Baech, after TOPS crossing at the right hand, about 500 meters down the road.

70's and 80's way before my time............ ::

Interesting though, we seem to have 3 different Disco Duck's going here.
