Her concerts are cancelled due to a visit this week from the cops. Seems somebody blew the whistle and over 70 dancers have been arrested and I expect deported back to Laos. So that's where she's been getting those cuties from, and to think you could have barfined some of them in the off season at a few bars along soi22. What a pity, it was a great dance troupe, killjoys. They are always snooping around dance troupes, mainly for underage, flies and honey spring to mind!

what you mean you never met the famous khun Dao from the old Barbie bar in Asoke plaza? she is in queens park plaza last bar on the right at the end, very entertaining lady. I'm sure you must have been to those bars in front of regency park? went there with khun bill once and had a great time, the girls wear different outfits every night. What about WS don't tell me you never had your pants pulled down by 3-4 lovlies while standing at the bar in WC bar? then there is square one I think taffy is still there shouting at the girls and permanetly drunk, horse and hounds, prince of wales the earily empty place, happy bar for the best selection of morlam that I know of in any bar. Lots of masage places, don't bother with bourbon st though service is shit and it's full of loud mouthed yanks, I don't like silver dollar/lone star either for the same reason, although service is OK there the food is expensive in those places. You should get out more!

"don't bother with bourbon st though service is shit and it's full of loud mouthed yanks"

This statement is so untrue it is not even funny. Great food, good friendly attentive staff, the Yanks are all polite and well behaved and usually well dressed, and I've never seen anything close to what the hell you are going on about. Complete and utter bullshit mate.

Well it was like that the four times I have been in there although the yanks are not so loud mouthed in lone star and silver dollar those places are a bit like clubs for old servicemen who forgot to go home after vietnam. Can meet the odd interesting character though and almost certain to see mekong kurt strolling about in his hat and looking like Hemingway. Loud mouth Yank = Brit football hooligan, a stereotype but too many around. BTW I love the USA and am a great supporter of it's role in the world and the great benefits it's foreign policy has given us, so not anti american.

C'mon Peter. How can you make such a blanket statement with four visits to the place, and how long ago were these visits? At breakfast, lunchtime or dinnertime?

"Well it was like that the four times I have been in there"

Sigh. And every time the staff sucked and the place was full of 'loud-mouth' Yanks? What exactly is a loud-mouth Yank anyway? Someone who laughs loud? Or talks loud? Sometimes it is so crowded at the bar and the surrounding restaurant that you need to talk loudly just to be heard.

"although the yanks are not so loud mouthed in lone star and silver dollar those places are a bit like clubs for old servicemen who forgot to go home after vietnam."

Well, I've seen more 'loud-mouthing' going on in the Lone Star and Silver Dollar really all the many times I have been in those places than I ever did in Bourbon Street. :-) Depends on how drunk those expat Yanks are and what time of day you are in them. ::

"Can meet the odd interesting character though and almost certain to see mekong kurt strolling about in his hat and looking like Hemingway."

Yeah, interesting places and characters in both at times.

"Loud mouth Yank = Brit football hooligan,"

Well, considering I go to Bourbon Street all the time, over a decade as well, breakfast/brunch in there almost daily when in BKK, and eat dinner there usually a couple of times over a week in town, I have never seen anyone even remotely resembling a "Brit Football Hooligan" in the place, or even a facimile of a Yank Football Hooligan either. It is mostly well dressed businessmen and fairly well dressed and well off Yank punters and their ladies I see in there. Yeah, it can get loud at night during the rush dinner hour, but loud-mouth Yanks is pretty much stretching it. And yeah, the staff can get bogged down during a rush hour dinnertime, but I have rarely ever had anything close to 'bad service' there in all these years of frequenting the place. I consider it one of the best run restaurants in Bangkok that serves farang and Thai food. And my wife says sokme of their Thai foods are the best she has had anywhere, and coming from her that IS high praise for a farang joint, which usually don't have the best Thai food as they are catering to the farang side of the business.

"a stereotype but too many around."

Yes, a stereotype. Too many around? Maybe, but certainly not in Bourbon Street.

"BTW I love the USA and am a great supporter of it's role in the world and the great benefits it's foreign policy has given us, so not anti american."

No, just anti-Bourbon Street maybe? :)

We seem to have two completely different and opposing experiences of the place. I'll stick with mine, you can go eat at the British pub around the corner where the un-loud-mouth Brits hang out and sip tea and eat crumpets while wearing their footie jerseys and drinking delicious warm brews. :)

Try Bourbon Street's boiled spicey crawdad's and let your wife have a culinary farang experience, PeterPaul. She'll love 'em. A half kilo will do fine, but I'll bet next time she'll want to order a full kilo. Great eats there. And try their Bourbon Street Baked Boneless Redfish with whitesauce. Out of this world. Plus my wife and family love their pork ribs.

Great foods, good staff, and wonderful friendly, though a bit loud at times, Yanks to chat with over a nice draft beer or decent wines. I highly recommend the place.

well the pizza ia very good in Bourbon street, if you can wait long enough for it to turn up. The last time I went in there was three years ago, maybe unlucky. I did not mean to say football hooligans go in these places just that I avoid both types if possible. I must say you never seem to meet know it all loud mouth danes, swiss or swedes etc. It's just so annoying to be in a place where all you can hear is 'let me tell ya' or 'I just wanna say this' bellowed out. Perhaps not always so loud but more acting as if they own the place they are in, even when in another country. Maybe this is partly why Americans are so unpopular worldwide, their attitiude to everyone else. ::

I tell I lie the last time I went into bourbon st was under 2 years ago but left without ordering as they did not have any thai food, just steak and the like.

As for Siriporn don't know anymore but it did make the papers. I expect she will pay the cops and the girls will be sent home, they are the best troupe, small and cute. She seems to take her show seriously and will be really pissed off about this. I wonder if it's getting harder to find thai girls willing to be dancers on tour? not much fun living on a bus year after year for about 200 baht a day. jin continues to have porkers and the odd kateoy in her line up so perhaps that's why Siriporn gets hers from Laos, willing, pretty and cheap.
