yfs
It seems changes are in store, but what they may be is anyone's guess.
Flashermac
From all the publicity in the papers, it seems the main targets are the young Thais who are out carousing -- many of them under age and even getting into drugs. The Farang bar scene is hardly even mentioned in the papers. You'll see polls about how many Thais support the crackdown, but the polls are all about places like RCA and so on. The average Thai could care less about foreign tourists boozing it up. One article in the Post on these "entertainment zones" contained a sentence everyone seems to miss. It said that places already existing outside the zones would not be forced to close! Just new bars etc would not be allowed to open there.
yfs
Todays papers (Post, Nation) have articles saying revisions will occur to the crackdown. Damn. Just when I thought I would be able to get to bed at a reasonable time.
