There has already been a discussion about this in an other thread, but IMO it will be harder rules but more corrupt leaders so actually back to how it was before Thaksin. Thaksin is said to be corrupt but that's not true he's one of the richest men in Thailand and nobody can buy him, his big mistake was using an oversmart - but correct - tax planning to avoid paying taxes on his sale of Shin Corp and that made him impossible as leader in a democratic country.

it depends who will be the strong figures in the next government! the so called social order was actually not initiated by Thaksin but by the strong conservative wing of the Thai Rak Thai party. if for example one of the two leaders of the protest movement Chamlong Srimuang would get in power, we would certainly see soon bar closing at 11 pm or for ever. but luckily for us he will not get any powerful positiion! but the same could happen if Sudarat Keyyuraphan (the lady who was health minister and later agriculture minister) will get a influential figure.

certainly one can not conclude that with Thaksin gone, all bars will stay open until early morning (as they never were under any government for many years)!
