YimSiam
I think Thais see it as not only more fun to eat with other people, but it makes the food taste better - my language skills are shit, but in both Laos and Thailand I've heard something along the lines of "Eat alone, not delicious!" (Gin khon diow, baw saep?). In Laos, sitting around snacking (on almost anything) with friends is the second most loved activity, eclipsed only by the national pastime: the all-day nap. DOG Not in general, in my fiancee's family, neighbours and friends it's common to eating then, when they are hungry. They don't need to eat together. Maybe has something to do with the circumstance, that they are not drinker.
