jitagawn Posted April 23, 2006 Report Share Posted April 23, 2006 BREAKING NEWS Police set deadline for anti-Thaksin leaders Police have given an ultimatum to the leaders of the People's Alliance for Democracy, a coalition against Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra: Report for questioning by next Friday. The police stressed that the PAD leaders, including local media mogul Sondhi Limthongkul who was charged with lese majeste in a separate case, must turn themselve in by the date or face arrest warrants. Earlier, the coalition leaders requested that their report to the police be postponed until May 17. They also hinted strongly they would refuse all police deadlines to report voluntarily, and wait to be arrested. Caretaker Prime Minister and Justice Minister Chidchai Wannasathit refused to comment, saying only that police investigators have full mandate to proceed on all legal procedures. Pol Gen Chidchai, assigned as caretaker premier in place of Mr Thaksin since April 6, added all the PAD core members are still considered innocent of any violations.
