ALHOLK
Norways equivalent of the 4'th of July. They celebrate that the union they were forced into by superior Swedish armed forces was dissolved on May 17 1905.
ALHOLK
Hi! That's because they are there. The union was dissolved in 1905. No Norwegian today has any memory of it. Today most Norwegians recognize that when they meet Swedes abroad they meet a fellow Scandinavian that they can speak to in their own language. I know a Norwegian bloke that maintains that if the union had not been forced upon them it would have been a great idea. Swedish industry and Norwegian oil in Europes second largest country would have been a winner. I think that hard feelings in Norway against Sweden today are more linked to the fact that Sweden avoided WWII. regards ALHOLK regards ALHOLK

ALHOLK
Many Swedes work in Norway due to higher wages and a similar language. On the other hand the cost of living is a hell of lot higher too.
