Where you staying now days since the Thara dosent allow guests?

Correction...........The joine fee has been removed untill high season. As you would expect that being the Thara's most frequent visitor I do negotiate my fees but you guys are off the hook.

The Front Office Mgr from before the take over is back and things are better there.

I had a lot of interface with hotels in Hawaii during my years and these guys "SwissBel" are all he same. Slash costs (staff) increase prices and use their Int'l marketing system to fill the hotel Anyway, no fee for joiners. You can verify that directly with K. Somporn. they recinded many of the new changes an sacked the first GM,. There is a Falang Kawai (Food and Bev mgr) who has muckied up things a bit but since I sent a very strong e-mail to corporate offices things have sotton better including the return of K. Somporn. I'll be there soon! But of course that is almost always true!

Well thats good news  I'll have to pay them a visit in the future. I had recommeded that someone stay there and they got hit with joiner fees after I told them it was guest friendly. :onfire:

I then sent an email requesting the pool room and inquiring about the new joiner fee and preferred rate. I was told could no gaurantee specific room, joiner fee at 500 baht would apply and no special rate.

Good news. Good hotel. I stayed there a couple of years ago and a local female friend came to visit one night (not a bar girl). We walked down the street for dinner and to hang out a bit then came back. She had parked her car in the front lot at the Thara. When we came back I suggested we take a shortcut through the restaurant and pool area to get to her car. The security guard stopped her and said something to her in Thai that made her embarrassed and upset - I quickly stepped in to let him know the situation was not what he thought (darn!), but it surprised me too (she was dressed nicely and not at all like a bar girl).
