Straycat
Ok, but if I understand the written Thai correctly it's 26 900 for body + lens. 22 500 for body only. Still not too shabby... Unfortunately I cannot join you next week as I will be back upcountry...

..
Pix One in Fortune Town lists the D50 with lens for B25,500 (B21,900 body only). Can maybe get a discount on top of that. Cheers, SD
Straycat
Pix-One. Well, why not. More convenient to drive there as well. I'll check it out! Thanks Sua.
Old Hippie
Here are Some USA prices... http://www.shopcartusa.com/Product/25216/Electronics~Cameras~Digital_Cameras/Nikon_D50_Digital_SLR/PT_Y/?ic_campID=98 Note, the really cheap prices might be for NO warrenty, off brand lense, recondiditoned...etc...many factors... The price with a kit (nikon) does seem a bit high, and is in the category of the D70, which is in my opinion, a better camera...I would advise against shipping any camera/high priced item to Thailand as there is bound to be duty/customs/import fees involved... If it is an option, I'd hold off until I could get to Singapore or someplace, and get the D70 for the same or less money, and maybe pay part of the trip with the savings...if not, then do what you have to do... DocThai
Be wary about Singapore. Yes there are a few excellend places for cameras like Mustafas, but many shops also carry none or fake warrantees.

To make things more complicated, Nikon is about to present a all-new 10 mega pixel camera in less than two weeks. http://nikonimaging.com/global/ For me, it doesn't matter. The D50 is a good enough camera. It can do pretty much exactly the same as the D70 (except some features, that I'll never use anyway). Quality/Price/Features is just about right for me w/ looking at the D50.
The_Munchmaster
For your info, probably the cheapest place for cameras in the UK is online retailer Wharehouse Express and they charge 399 + 12 delivery for the D50 and 18-55 lens. That equates to Baht 28,359. A 1GB card is Baht 1,863.
