I used to go in Piza Café because of the singer of one of the band playing there, a tall, curvy and classy east-javanese beauty, who was unique ... and precious.

I loved to seat in the back, watching her singing slowly and sensualy the Kris Dayanti 's "Mensitaimu", which was "our" song  ...

God bless her.

Anyway, there's often a friendly local crowd there on evenings. Nice regular girlies too.

In a few days our good old Jakarta thread will celebrate its 4th year of life :: ::

Yet no posts here since three monthes.

Personnaly, my bank account doesn't allow me to go to Jakarta this summer and I have to skip it for a closer destination. It will be for next year, surely for a looooong stay.

Oh well. How good and different is Indonesia, which has the most captivating cultures, the most various and stunning sceneries, the nicest people, the best nightlife, and the most easygoing, attractive and naughty women on planet earth. Really.

What about you guys, Carlton, Gobbledonk, Mojito, Bintang, Minuman, Possesed Seoul, Adikgede, Asiahand, Ib13, Gado-Gado, all of you who have since long a passion for Jakarta and Indonesia .... no projects to be back soon in town ?

Anyway ...... 4 years !!!

Hi Prosal,

When my house sale goes through, I'll start planning another OS trip. With the amount of crap flying in Bali at the moment (Aussie=drug mule, apparently), I'm afraid I probably wont be going back to Indonesia. Besides, there are still several Asian destinations that I havent seen : Malaysia, Vietnam and Laos are all high on the list.

Cheers,

Artie

I thought that this post had died.

Im still yearning to get back to Jakarta but opted last xmas to go to Batam instead of Jakarta.

Thinhs have changed a little bit for me. Still travelling a lot to S.E. Asia but have a nice little girlfriend from Manila. So most of my indiscretions are now on the way home. Next trip on June 16 I have allowed 4 nights in Pattaya to fxxk myself silly after being with my g/f.

Perhaps next trip marked for october I might fly with SQ so i dart over to Jakarta. If its november it will be no good as it will be ramadan.

Art, too bad Indonesia is no more on your map. Yet if there's too much crap in Bali (I agree on that), remember the archipelago is huge and various ....

Here is an interesting and useful report that Bintang sent me on my hotmail account about his last year trip in Central Java ....... he seems to be gone from the board, this could be his last contribution ....

P.

Woah...super photo mec!! Hehe...yes it is a good souvenir of a very crazy night in Jakarta ...thank you for that!!

Anyway, sorry that I did not reply sooner...I have been travelling and things are kind of hectic. I'm in the Phillippines already, in the north now and Manila next week. Bien sur I will report Manila too, but for now let's just say I decided I agree with you...Indonseian chicks are much more attractive than Filipina ones...not just physical looks, but personality too.

Anyway, as to Java...I travelled with my girlfriend, so no chance to actually score...but I still checked out some places, here is the best report I can give.

SEMARANG

Studio One Disco - Every taxi driver seems to now this place. It kis a little bit away from the centre of town. Basically it is kind of like a Kota joint. Mix of local guys, a few bule guys, and girls who seem to be ayam, mostly very decent looking, many tall and thin chinese-type beauties. One could really move her ass like that Dangdut singer Inul. I went on Tuesday night, but still quite lively.

"Astro" Disco - This is on the top floor of a mall with a name like the "Java Mega Mall" some thing like that. Anyway, don't waste your time here I think. Basically a live music place with an R&B cover band, but not as classy as CJs or something. Anyway, I'm sure there must be some places like CJs in Semarang, it is a big city...but I didn't find them. Maybe if you go you could try the Ciputra hotel..I heard there is a very good and busy music lounge there.

Finally Semarang is an interesting city to visit. If you like the old colonial part of Kota, Semarang is like that...old Dutch buildings, a big interesting china town.

SOLO

Well I didn't find this "Regent" disco you talked about... I drove past Legend but didn't go in.

But I did find one very good place. Just go to the musci bar (forgot the name) that is in the basement of "Quality Hotel Solo". This is really like the CJs of Solo but smaller of course. Classy place, many unescorted females and the singers in the band were hot too! The girls in here were mostly very good looking. I think this is the right place for the "sport" we like. Even on Thursday night there was a decent crowd, so I think on the weekend it must be very good. My girllfriend also says there is a similar place in Novotel Solo, but we didn't have time to check it.

YOGYA

I must say I like this city beter than Solo, even if it is very touristy. Could have some good hunting potential too.

Pappillon: this is the famous one, not sure if you have been here. Let's say it is very fucking dark...the darkest place I have been to in Indonesia. Similar to a Kota joint. On Saturday night, many, many local guys. More guys than girls!! Only 1 or 2 bule. My girlfriend says some of the girls in there were surely ayam, but it was too dark for me to notice!!

Not a good place I think.

After that we went to another disco, but I forgot the name. It is in a hotel, with a name like "Century" or ""Centurion", on Jalan Solo. I forget the name of the disco, but once again - forget it - few cute girls I could see. BUT....HERE IS THE GOOD NEWS..... in the same hotel, next door to the disco, there is a live music bar called "Club Model Cafe", or something like that. I couldn't go in, becasue at this stage my girlfriend was already tired and also pissed off that I was checking out so many chicks. But it seemed very full on Saturday night...and...I saw many BEAUTIFUL women going in there...this is surely the CJs of Yogya...the place where the cream of the local model chicks go. So if you go to Yogja, this is the place I reccomend the most. I will try to confirm the name of the hotel for you.

Ok, that's all...hope you find it useful.

As for my plans, unfortunately I do not hink I will be back until January next year. But then maybe I will try to stay for 6 months, so maybe we will have the chance to go hunting together again.

Take Care, and let me know about your August trip.

Cheers

J.

Adik

Sounds quite crazy to build a mega-bridge just at the bottom of the Krakatau !!

Anyway JKT also doesn't seems to have a lack of big projects ....

---------------------------------------

The Jakarta Tower ('Menara Jakarta') project will resume construction this year under the name 'Prasada Japa Pamudja'....... when completed, it will be the TALLEST STRUCTURE IN THE WORLD. The height of the building is 558 m, some 5 metres taller than the CN Tower in Toronto, the current record holder.

-------------------------------------------

BTW, what about the recently inaugurated 70 storeys Ritz Carlton Jakarta in Mega Kuningan, have you been dining there already, and is its musical bar 'Mistere' already a good freelancers' spot ?

Cheers
