jitagawn
"Anyway maybe your journeys in local P4P spots will not only bring you to Tretes, but also to Batam, Tg Balai, Dolly in Surabaya, or Tanah Abang and Lokasari Plaza in Jakarta. Then if you have enough discernment, you'll maybe see, as I've seen, that most sex workers in those kind of dingy places ARE underaged, on drugs, and obviously semi enslaved. Also if you're curious enough, you'll maybe hear, as I've heard, eerie stories like 16 yo girls dying of overdose and bodies disposed off without police involvement, like girls being beaten to death by Ambonese mafiosos/pimps, like HIV+ girls being obliged by their mamasans to continue working, ect. In Indonesia, this happens in ALL mafia-controlled seedy brothels zones, INCLUDING Tretes." The well travelled Prosal said the above and in my opinion he is pretty near to the truth here. I personally have travelled in INdo for 15 years,2-3 times a year, speak pretty good Bahasa and I have the same impression as he does. Generally I find it too suspect and seedy-When my friends drag me along my sense of comapssion, and survival kicks in and I just dont do it. Lots of bad karma in these nasty places.underagedrugs etc etc
Prosal
The Regional forum seems REALLY quiet these days. Here's some nice pics to active it a bit. I believe Indonesian women are among the most beautiful on Earth, and these from Jean Paul Nacivet illustrate that nicely. http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2251892 http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=3226843 http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2267616 http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2378191

Sukhumvit
Tremendous photos. :smirk: Have spent last couple of days working way, partly, through 5 years of posts on this thread. (still only on page 82!) Certainly looks like should have checked out Jakarta earlier. Sounds marvellous. Well, holidays coming up in next couple of months. Maybe Indonesia is the place to check out next?
Prosal
Indonesia remains IMO the best destination in Asia but with the increasing floods of sex-tourists, things are also changing in Jakarta, and not for the best.
Sukhumvit
Finally finished this thread. Lots of info from indo regulars. Found a couple of sites with info on nightlife and indonesia in general:- www.indonesiaclubbing.com/ http://indahnesia.com/index.php The second one also has some links to property sale/rental. gobbledonk
Hi Sukhumvit, The fantasy in Oz usually revolves around a compound in Bali, but I'd consider living on Java if the political situation between Canberra and Jakarta wasnt so prone to continual rollercoaster rides, but I'd really want to be out of Jakarta. It may be the nightlife mecca, but somewhere between heat/traffic/crowds and severe flooding, its just too much for an old guy :smirk: http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,21171902-401,00.html Cheers, Artie
