Those attacks did actually hapen. Some believe there is evidence to support the government knew they were going to hapen and did nothing.

These "red, yellow, blue etc" terror alerts serve no purpose other than to put fear into people, plain and simple. If they actually stopped an attack, fine, great, now shut up about it for fear of spooking people, and also alereting terroerits.

During WWII, German Uboats were sunk off the coast of the USA, Now common dive sights. The Japanese supposedly fired a round or 2 from a submarine into the California coast, All kept quiet to prevent a panic, which is EXACTLY what this administration wants. Thety want people terrified, it serves their greater cause.

Fear Justifys military action/spending/tax hikes/gas hikes, etc, all to make people feel safer. Never underestimate these people and what they will do for power and money.

<< As I have said before, I would not put anything past the mob in charge of the US/UK and believe nothing that they say.

Cheers,

Actually, there is no al Quaida. The whole thing is a plot by Bush and Tony Blurr to keep the masses in subjection. The Twin Towers never went down either. The faked terrorist attacks were filmed at Area 51 in secrecy.

At this stage of the game, would it really surprise you if you learned Bin Laden was just an actor? Or if the Twin towers were rigged with explosives? That the governement or people high up were in on it all? Yeah, it sounds luney for sure, but nothing surprises me anymore.

Remember the JFK assassination? Look at all the lies, cover ups, mysterious deaths etc involved in that mess! Now comming out who may have known what and all the links of who was for sure involved...and how they were all linked together, and many linked to Watergate, Bush, Reagan, Clinton etc...they all run in the same circle.

In any event, it wouldn't surprise me if any or all of the conspiracy theories were true. Same with 9/11 and anything else. The Government controls most/all of the media, and I take it all with a kilo of salt.

Well, point is, what is gained by a "red alert" terror warning? I am still having to go on about my daily business right? I am not able to in any way help prevent the inevitable attack if there is to be one right? so why walk around paniced? Point is, there is a time to report, and a time to shut up. The government reports on "possible attacks...that MIGHT...it is believed the intent May have been..." blah blah to keep us scared, and thus justify their agenda.

Have you ever noticed that we only get a message from Al Quaida when it serves the GWB regime? has his balls in the fire, under the gun, poof, another warning from Ossama. Need to drum up support for a war, poof, another "pearl Harbour." Need to drum up support for more wars (when we can't win/finish the ones we have now) poof, reports of more terror attacks that were narrowly stopped. I am syure there is evil in the world for sure dude, but I am just not buying everything this gang tells me.

I remember when I was in the army in El Salvador. We had been told repeatedly the FMLN were well armed, trained by the Soviets, armed with anti tank, anti aircraft missles etc...they were not! Reagan went on T.v. and said "that is just a 17 hour drive to the Texas border, I don't wna them here..." and created a real scare to justify fucking around down there, all based on lies that served money interests.

You are right, the real threat from terrorism might be from the educated , the scientist who can make bombs, bio/nuclear whatever. Of course, we keep letting these people into the country, but hey, what can you do right?

Officials admit doubts over chemical plot

Most "Terror" suspects released without charge

"By the end of June this year, 609 people had been arrested under the Act since September 11, 2001, the Home Office said.

The Home Office said 99 of those had been charged with offenses under the Act, including 38 who were also charged under other legislation. Of the 99 charged, 15 have been convicted.

The remainder were released without charge, bailed to ensure their return, cautioned, charged under other legislation or dealt with under immigration or mental health legislation, the Home Office said."

Yeah. Nothing happened and the cops are talking about "Nothing short of an attempt at MASS MURDER" in press conferences. Where's the evidence.. it's all the police believe they have cracked an alleged, supposed, never even happened, fantastical TERROR PLOT"! Run Away!!!! THE TERRORISTS ARE COMING!

Well, again, like I said, there was a big press conference here about a group that was supposedly "believed to be planning" to blow up a mall in Ohio, no further reports since. The 3 Uni guys picked up in a restaurant in Florida when a waitress supposedly heard them plotting to blow up a building...big reports on that, later found out to be a stupid waitress talking shit, but for a day or so, it *was* a "legitimate plot."

So with these stories, one has to say if they uncovered a pliot, then either report the full story, but none of this "it is believed the intent might have been..." type crap. Or better yet, keep quiet about it so as not to spook other people who may be involved it in, and panic the public. Then later, when it is a calmer time, report the story. But all these narrowly averted attacks just seem to conviently timed/placed.

But there is also something known as overreacting!

And did you ever see the Mythbusters episode on explosive decompression? It takes quite a lot to affect an aircraft...

Regards,

SD

Here is a BBC report on explosives:

Q&A: Liquid explosives

An alleged plot to blow up planes from the UK mid-flight and cause "mass murder on an unimaginable scale" has been disrupted, Scotland Yard has said.

It is thought the plan was to detonate explosive devices smuggled in hand luggage on to as many as 10 aircraft.

BBC security correspondent Gordon Corera said the plan "revolved around liquids of some kind".

One theory is that the attack may have involved liquid explosive being carried on to a plane in either drink bottles or cans.

Dr Clifford Jones, an explosives expert from the University of Aberdeen, says even a small amount of liquid explosives carried on to an aircraft would result in a catastrophic explosion.

What are liquid explosives?

The best place to start is with the term "high explosive"; these can be either solid or liquid. Of course, the most famous ones are solid, such as Dynamite and TNT.

One liquid explosive is a general use explosive that is used in quarries.

However, I would not be surprised if it is possible to produce solid explosives in liquid form.

How do they work?

Usually when something burns, it is subsonic and there is very little pressure effect.

With high explosives, the rate of burning is extremely rapid and exceeds the speed of sound. As a result of that there is something called "overpressure" - pressure greater than the surrounding atmospheric pressure.

Massive overpressure is not needed to cause damage. An excess of 1% can break windows, and an overpressure of 10% can harm or kill people and cause structural damage to buildings.

An overpressure of just 2% could break the windows of the aeroplane, and 10% would wreck the aircraft and possibly kill the people in it before it reached the ground.

By the time the damage is caused, the chemistry has finished and physics has taken over.

How are they made?

There are such things as liquid explosives that are high explosives and they behave in exactly the same way as solid explosives, such as TNT.

But there are also explosives that are made by mixing a solid and a liquid - one being the oxidant and the other being the fuel. Unlike most high explosives, they do not contain the fuel and oxidant in the same molecule but they do contain them in sufficiently close contact to cause a blast.

Are the components difficult to get hold of?

No, it is very easy. Ordinary household substances could be used.

Specialist knowledge or equipment needed to make?

If someone wanted to obtain a solid high explosive in a liquid form, it would not be difficult for a trained chemical technologist.

But if someone was using a backyard laboratory it is more likely they would go for the two component approach.

Not a lot of experience is needed, the principles are quite simple but it would be a hazardous process of trial and error.

I would not want to be messing about these things. It has been known for schoolboys to go home and attempt this and blow their house up.

Could an explosive device be carried on to an aeroplane?

The size of a device necessary could be carried in hand baggage. Explosives in a toilet bag, certainly inside a shoulder bag would be enough to meet the terrorists' needs.

They could be quite hard to detect because I do not think any of the things we have mentioned would respond to x-rays. For example, a liquid hydrocarbon fuel could pass as mineral water.

The question is how do you get something packed into a bag so it does not look suspicious?
