Yeah - kinda hard to tell if he's always been a jester (including the 60s). Being a fan I'd like to think so - I found there's a good comment on the Shat's piss taking: Now he's playing me. And while it might not sound very funny, it did seem comical at the time. Finally, I get it. Shatner is a nut, all right. And a tough one to crack. But the joke's on us.
