MooNoi
Ok... I'm an Aussie, so I wasn't brought up on the English soccer...er...sorry..football. But since being here in Asia, I have grown to enjoy the game immensely. However, watching the games recently, what's this thing with managers and coaching staff having initals on their shirts? Iain Dowie has "ID", Glenn Roeder has "GR", Paul Jewell has "PJ" etc. etc. What's with that? I know who the manager is already. I assume they, or their wives, do their laundry so it can't get mixed up with anyone else's. And anyone else in the coaching staff who have these initials is some insignificant person who I don't need to know, and don't care if I don't know who they are or what their name might be. It's weird. What gives? MooNoi
ultras67
It helps the kit man put the right shirts on the right pegs. and it will be the club that does the laundry not the wives ( shame )
jbje
Maybe we are making the wrong assumption concerning the wives . . . Nah. To get some lard off the dole, the English reality is that each club employs kit men. Hence the initials. Of course that also assumes the boyz can read initials. MooNoi
So why can't they put the initials on the label of the shirt? Kit guy can still them. I think those big intials look poxy.
