No it wasn't the KSC

KSC played only one team from Portugal that was in 1994

Boavista - KSC 1:1

KSC - Boavista 1:0

in the same year when we killed valencia

Valencia - KSC 3:1

KSC - Valencia 7:0

and we lost in the semifinals against Salzburg

Salz - KSC 0:0

KSC - Salz 1:1

Salzburg had one shot on the goal in both legs and scored! THAT was hard to swallow!

Coach wanna play a 4-3-3 next year

more madness from UEFA.

they are making noises about having the team which wins the domestic Cup Final in their Country gain automatic entry to the CL instead of the UEFA Cup....

Scotland in particular are not too keen on the idea as it will mean they will lose 1 of their 2 automatic places in the CL due to the League table

i wonder if UEFA will also decide that Countries with multiple places will lose a place?.

and what happens if like in some Countries the League and Cup are dominated by the same Teams?.

in Scotland Celtic won the double,so would Dunfermline get a CL spot instead of Rangers who proved a better Team over a 9 Month Season?.

and what of England?.

the Cup has been won by 1 of the 'top 4' for many Years.

and they normally qualify for the CL anyway because of the PL positions.

Chelsea won the Cup but got their CL spot because of the PL.

MU qualified for winning the PL so who would get the CL spot in the FA Cup?.

would they have to choose between Watford and Blackburn? and if so how could you decide which Team was more qualified?.

so next Season you could have Southampton winning the Cup and getting into the CL instead of say MU who only manage to finish 3rd in the PL... :cussing:

but at least UEFA do not think that the idea will work as it needs the agreement of all Countries involved.

so why bother talking about it in the 1st place?.

and why is it called the Champions League?.

ToNI! ToNI! (Anyone see that episode of Seinfeld? :D )

I'm not sure about them - only saw them in the World Cup and Toni in particular didn't impress me that much. Neither did Ribery make an impression (a bit more - a few nice dribbles) but I suppose he must be pretty good for Wenger to take an interest.

I have to say I didn't particularly notice Malouda then either but now everyone seems to want him. Liverpool seem to be the front-runners so I hope he's good!

I'd love Villa. A few years ago, before we went for Morientes (:doah:), Rafa was interested in him and I was thinking "who?" but now I know. He's top class and I'd love to have him.

Toni is the top scorer in Italy for 2 years now, can't be a bad one.

Ribéry didn't impress you at the World Cup, really? That has probably something to do with his nationality, and you cheering for the other team, no matter who it was! For me Ribéry was THE French player, he is quite unstoppable and kinda reminds me on a mature Christiano Ronaldo

Why don't they bring back the Cupwinners Cup? Nothing wrong with that format, knockout specialists in a knockout tournament right from the beginning. Not such a money spinner perhaps, but a lot more exciting.

No, I'm usually fair on judging talent. I'd heard about Ribery but he didn't impress me on performances anymore than, say, Lennon. (And Lennon doesn't look like Gary Neville! :) )

For me, C.Ronaldo was the standout attacking player at the last World Cup (that's fairness for you) and there were others at least at the level of Ribery.

Hey, btw, I seem to remember some sort of argument recently between me, you and sayjaan where you were implying poor little Bayern didn't spend the same sort of money as English clubs and sayjann was also trying to play the 'poor little ManU' card.

Didn't Ribery alone go for £17m? That's more than Liverpool's transfer record.

And ManU have just splashed out £50m on three players and apparently are looking to buy more.

Poor little ickle ManU, eh? :smirk:

£50m? That means that each of those new players cost more than Liverpool's transfer record. I'd like to see the top 10 English transfers now - I reckon over half the table would be taken up by ManU.

How many players have you bought now above Liverpool's transfer record, sayjann? You could make a whole team of them, I reckon. :smirk:
