elef Posted September 28, 2006 Report Share Posted September 28, 2006 Bangkok Post Today Link Anna Nicole Smith's son had drugs in blood Los Angeles (dpa) - Former Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith's son had a mix of methadone and two antidepressants in his blood stream when he died according to a new toxicology report, US media reported Wednesday. Daniel Smith, 20, died from the cumulative effects of the lethal drug mixture, pathologist Cyril Wecht told the E!Online on Wednesday. Wecht said it was not a suicide, instead he described the surprise death as "a tragic, accidental drug-related death." The pathologist said he did not know why the young man was taking methadone. Daniel Smith's family also expressed surprise about the finding, he said. Methadone is prescribed to help heroin addicts recover, but is also given as a pain reliever. Daniel Smith died September 10 in his mother's hospital room in the Bahamas. Anna Nicole Smith had given birth to a daughter three days earlier.
