Steve Posted January 17, 2007 Report Share Posted January 17, 2007 Ronaldo was rumored to be going to the NY Red Bulls over the summer for about a 100 million. The drink company can afford it no problem. I think he'll end up here eventually. A few other things as well. The NASL was not on tv week in, week out like the MLS. Also, no one played the sport in America back then. The MLS is on tv here weekly. The game is much widely played than back then and so the dynamics are much different. Not only kids playing but every college has a men and women's soccer team which wasn't the case 30 years ago. The chances of the league succeeding are not too bad.
