mattwasp
Scotland's a big enough place to have a few accents though... its not all Rab C Nesbit.. I vote for welsh... very cute in women, especially when they're angry. Was chatting to a welsh girl at a party not long ago getting her to say 'fak!' sayjann
with apologies to The_Munchmaster. i have a good friend in Scotland who i used to visit a lot while she lived in Edinburgh. when she moved to Inverness the visits dwindled. she was from Largs and had a nice Scottish lilt to her voice. but whenever she got together with her Sister,i was totally lost about what they were talking about. her Father was from Fife but living in Dunbar and i used to just smile and nod occasionally whenever he spoke to me. but i was invited to a New Years Night party at the home of the owner of the Belhaven Brewery. lot's of Beer and i didn't have to drive so i will be grateful to Dad for that. the Owner committed suicide a few Years later. i like the West Country accent. i work with a close friend who is from Bristol and i love it when she suddenly slips into her original accent. i was raised in Hampshire and there is an accent down here, but many people do not believe so. but a real 'Ampshire Og' accent is very thick and easily impossible to understand. we lived next to a Guy who was in his 80's when we moved in and in his entire life he had never travelled more than 20 Miles away from Portsmouth. i could never understand a word he said. i couldn't understand a word.
