If you've been a good boy so far, and if you want to stay married, my advice is :

Don't even think about "having a look only at the nightlife"

Just don't. You have no idea how intoxicating it can be, and how addictive. read this board, but avoid the nightlife sections. And maybe avoid mentioning the board to the wife, too. It would just make her paranoid.

And yes, living in BKK can be quite a stress on a falang marriage, hard to avoid looking at all the eyecandy you see around on the street and the malls. Be aware, women have a radar for competiton.

Hi,

"Don't even think about "having a look only at the nightlife""

Very good advice! It took me about a year and a half to get it out of my system, but of course I was still single at the time.

If you get drawn into the nightlife, it may very well cost you your marriage.

Go out to pubs and such, but I'd suggest avoiding the GoGo bars, and has been mentioned feel free to show up to Gulliver's (Sukhumvit soi 5) on any Friday. We're usually there from around 18:30 (in the restaurant area).

Sanuk!

Huh? Mr. Munchie,

" doubt this guy needs to chat with any WS "ol'timers". He's probably not got a lot in common with a bunch of fucked up Vietnam vet's or just fucked up non Vietnam vets! Also with the money he's on why would he need free food?! Good advice, as he has a wife and young family, would be to steer well clear of WS."

Ouch!

Are you painting all with the same 'brush'?

I don't think this new Expat needs to hear about some of my poor miltary veterans who have - maybe - might - possibly - have slighted you at one time or another.

As a Veteran myself, I have donated and help heal dozens, if not hundreds, of sick cows throughout all of Thailand, part of Cambodia, and the "New" Peoples Democratic Socialist Rebublic of Viet Nam!

My charity, my empathy, my giving, is matched by none of the 'old' punters on this board.

Oh, and did I mention the refrigerator I purchased for one nice gal living in a one room flat in Pattaya? And not one of those small cheap desktop ones like in the hotels. This was a big floor model.

Charity begins right in my wallet! And I am a Veteran !

The Vets in Washington square are some of the finest people in Thailand! Books have been written about them, and their work to help those in Laos and Thailand, and Cambodia etc...hardly a fucked up bunch, and frankly, as a veteran myself, I resent that claim as well.

Even though the wife will be here Friday night, the house and school seems to be taking care of itself. Guys I played golf with yesterday all live in a place called Nichada (?). They say the school is right there and everyone with kids lives there.

Their wives are going to show my wife around and take care of everthing. As we have all worked for the same corporation for a long time, we know a lot of the same people so it is looking good for the wife and kids. I do hate to take kids out of school this late in year, but they will live.
